It's just a game, no one is going to get into trouble, right? i kept telling myself that hoping I'd believe it when we reach my grandma as she's napping on the sofa next to the basement, "you know there's more than one key. we can just go to the basement like we were gonna do before.",
"don't be chunky. be Tommy, and such it up-", she reached over. inched away from the key i stopped her,
" what if she wakes up? we'll get in trouble?" i had worry falling out of my ass at this point. i didn't know what i was doing, but i knew it wasn't right.
" game over, i don't want to play anymore." i stood up and started walking back toward the stairs.
i heard harvasha whisper, "got it." i turned around to see harvasha with the when in her hand as she shuffled quietly back towards the stairs where i was, "I said game over."
" the game doesn't end until you can't go on, and i mean if someone dies." i gulped at the thought of death.
" so, what do we do now?" i was almost too afraid to ask, but for some reason i did.
" we go unlock that door."
"Okay..." i hesitated for a second because i didn't remember telling her about the door.
" don't wimp out on me now. the game has just begun." she smiled and made her way back up the stairs it glanced at my grandma, and for a moment i felt something I've never felt before; guilt, but my reason to do the right thing was overpowered by my curiosity, and the need to impress a female. i turned around and followed after harvasha to continue this hunt that would soon consume me. it was just a matter of time.
"come on man." harvasha seemed eager to get to the door, and so was i. together we walked down the dimly lit hallway to the door that the very end of it. once we reached it harvasha pulled out the key, and turned to towards the whole sticking it inside to turn it slowly until we bother heard that satisfying clicking sound from the unlocked door. harvasha looked at me and smiled, " this is it." i smiled back to show my excitement was just as great as hers. she put her hand on the doorknob and turned it slowly to keep from making a big noise, but we heard something, or someone coming up the stairs. we got scared and ran back to my room shutting it quietly behind us. we jumped on the bed because we didn't know what else to do, "oh no." harvasha got up and started to feel around her person,
" what's wrong?"
"The key." when i heard her say that i wanted to break a window because the pain of my heart falling into the pit of my gut was too much for me to handle.
