Luckily for me Ashley gets super focused when shopping so I didn't have to do much talking. I'd just point her in the direction of which store she wanted to go to and I'd follow her around. Man, I just wanted to take a nap I was already tired when I had gotten out of work so with the extra social interaction I was beat.

"Hello?! Earth to Alex!" Ashley said breaking through my thoughts, "Girl where are you?" she said.

"Oh sorry I was just thinking about something. You need another store?" I asked not that she needed anything else she had six bags of clothes.

"Nope this is it, we can go now! Do you want me to treat you to anything? Or are you maxed out for today?" she asked with a considerate look on her face.

"Maxed out?" I said, "what does that mean?"

"Well I know that you don't like people much and you already had to work today right? I really appreciate you coming out with me but I know that everyone has a limit with how much social interaction they can handle..." she explained.

"Oh, well....." I said, "um."

"Friends are considerate of each other, and I know this isn't easy for you. You can tell me when I'm too much, you're not going to hurt my feelings. I'd rather you tell me than you get fed up with me." she said walking towards the exit.

I didn't know what to say. No one had ever said that type of thing to me before, most people just don't get it and call me a bitch or that I'm heartless. How did this girl that just moved in get it so quickly?

"You coming or am I leaving you here?" she called behind her shoulder.

"No I'm coming!" I say catching up to her, "Ashley? Thank you."

She just nodded her head at me and smiled. We didn't talk the rest of the way home and it was good and comfortable. We drove up to our apartments and I was helping her with her bags when I heard a loud familiar voice.

"Ashley! Where have you been? Why haven't you been answering your phone?" I didn't even need to turn my head to know that was Ryan.

"Uh sorry Dad" she said sarcastically, "I went shopping with Alex and you know how I get when I'm shopping."

"Alex?" he said confused, his eyes slowly make contact with mine and his eyes widened with shock. "You went shopping with my sister? How did she rope you into that?" 

"She promised to leave me alone for a whole week." I said.

"Gives her a chance to reboot before our next excursion," she said laughing.

I look from her to her brother and noticed he was looking at me "What?" I asked, "is there something on my face?

"No I've just never seen you smile before that's all, you can hand me those bags I'll take them in for her." Ryan said while gently taking the bags from me. 

"Ok then, um I'm going to go take a nap then, and Ashley if you need me to show you anymore places just let me know alright?" I said before running up to my apartment and slinking straight into my bed.
