The next morning, Rindou was awokened by a loud bell ringing. "Wh-what? What's going on?" He shouted as he ran out of his room fully dressed in the same outfit he had went to bed in.
People were crowded around windows shouting. "It's time!" "The sky's burning!" "The fire'll fall soon!"
Rindou pushed and shoved his way downstairs and out of the inn. Outside, people were running about in panic to try and wet everything and anything they could as quickly as possible. Rindou quickly looked around for Kura and ran to the church. Kura was just running out the open doors and the two smacked into each other.
"Ouchies.."
"Ow.." Kura moaned as he stood up again. "Rindou! What are you doing up?"
"I was worried about you!" Rindou answered honestly as he stood up and circled Kura like a hawk to make sure he was fine.
"Ok ok. I'm all right! I have to get going." Kura started to walk into the crowd of people.
Rindou pouted and, grabbing Kura's wrist, yanked him back to him. "Go where? I'm going wherever it is, too!"
Kura sighed and pointed to a high stone tower near the back of the village. "There. To the sky terrace."
"Th-there?" Rindou whined, holding Kura closer.
Kura rolled his eyes and pushed out of his arms, "Yes. This is the day I have to go to see Amphitra!"
"I'm coming, too!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"Stay here. I'll be back by nightfall," Kura said strictly.
"Fine~" Rindou whined and watched Kura head to the tower. Ten minutes later he shook his head. "Who does he think he's kidding? There's no way I'm letting a cutie like him go into that scarey place!" Rindou hurried after Kura.
Kura was already in the tower and entering in the access code to operate the elevator. He didn't even budge when he heard Rindou run in. "You just couldn't keep away?"
"Nope! <3" Rindou answered, running over to him. "Whatcha doing?"
"Starting the elevator, unless you want to climb over four hundred stairs?"
"Elevator."
A beep signaled Kura's work done and the circular doors creeked open a moment later. Rindou pulled Kura to him, "Will you kiss me before we go in?"
".....Sure." Kura nodded, and kissed Rindou on the cheek. Then he dragged a depressed Rindou into the elevator. He pushed the button for the door to close.
"That wasn't exactly what I meant.."
"You want to spoil your marriage kiss?" Kura giggled.
"N-no! But kissing would be nice, too." Rindou nodded.
Kura shook his head as the elevator started its slow moving process up into the tower. He had a frown on his face as he rubbed his belly a bit, feeling a solid rock on the surface of his skin.
"So.. I'm really it..?" Kura whispered softly.
"Say something?" Rindou asked, smiling to Kura.
"Nothing!" Kura smiled back.
