Part One of a pulse-pounding retelling of a classic origin tale from 1999.]
When a Man-Animal forms, there are essentially two ingredients: umm... a Man (or Woman) and an Animal.
In the case of Man-Shrimp, there was a goofy guy named Les Clay (who liked to talk in third person) and a WHOLE BUNCH OF SHRIMP!
Some people have been a bit confused about the fact that Man-Shrimp is pulled onto a ShrimpBoat and then the flashback takes place on a SHRIMPBOAT!
These are two separate ShrimpBoats. The first one is Japanese. The second one is U.S. and it is where Man-Shrimp was first "born."
Being on the Japanese one is simply causing him to remember his experiences when he was created.

a common snack on all seafaring vessels in this world. :P
