"That... Is not a cookie." Shane grumbled at the plate with a small two inch cookie on it.

"Yes it is." Mira said happily.

"No.. That's a crumb."

"But... But... You fixed the generator for me..." Mira began that teary wail again.

Shane kept his glare at the cookie. Severely disappointed. "Why did I ever expect that it'd be a nice big yummy cookie?"

He turned and started out of Mira's incense-filled bedroom.

Mira wailed and ran after him. "Shane! Shane!!! Please I'll make you another one!"

Shane shouted at him, seeming to make the whole ship shake, "You broke the oven last week!"

"I'll fix it!"

"You don't know how!" Shane yelled again.

Mira wailed and cried, screaming at Shane. "Aw! You never want to do anything nice for me!"

Shane stood there, with a irritated smiled stuck on his jaw, eyes closed. He listened as Mira wailed and screamed, on and on.

"You don't even want to go back to earth! We've been out here for two years and I wanna go home! And I want you to go home with me! I want us all to go home!"

Shane didn't move. Just listened, trying to hear the common sense through the wailing.

"You formed the Help Force with me but you don't even want to help with the biggest mission- returning to earth! Why did you even join if you were just going to laze about being a big grouch about every-"

Snap went Shane's nerves. He slammed his hand to cover Mira's mouth.

Mira blinked, tears falling from his eyes, looking at the other.

Shane's entire body shivered with irritation.

After a moment he dropped his arm and hung his head a bit.

"Shane...?" Mira asked, in a much more calmer tone.

"I'll help get us back to earth..."

"YAAAA---"

Mira's mouth was instantly covered by Shane's hand again.

"IF!"

"IF?!" Mira wailed through the hand.

"If... If you can fix the stove by yourself and make me a real cookie before the end of the week."

Mira blinked. Then that stupid grin came onto his face. He could see everything about Shane, no matter how much the other hated it.

"YAY! Thank you so much, Shane!" Mira hugged Shane tightly around the arms.

Shane shifted a bit and started down the hall, letting Mira hang on one of his arms again.

Shane didn't say anything, just walked listening to that stupid song again.

"Shane. Shane. Shane~ Shane will be with me~ What a happy day~ Shane. Shane. Shane~"
