“You brats don’t even belong in here!” his father shouted back. “You’re just some low-life rich punks who were in the same dorm Hito ran to. He was just using you to escape me for a while-- but you know, Hito…. It never works. I’m always going to find you.”
“Shut up you prick.” Pheonix shouted, running up to Hito and covered the blond’s ears while he shouted at his father. “You shouldn’t be treating your son like a piece of trash!”
“He is a piece of trash until he can be normal and take up the company!” his father shouted.
“Your ramblings are what’s giving him more sadness, you bastard!” Pheonix shouted. “I don’t know why Hito lets you keep catching him. I bet you’ve just got him so terrified of you that he thinks he can’t ever be happy until he can get you out of his head-- Even after you’re frigging dead, you’ll still be haunting his mind!”
“So?” His father asked. “Isn’t that the way it should be? A son to obey his father and do as told?” He snickered, “But you wouldn’t understand… You’re a professional mafia member- tossed from your own family when you were sixteen.”
Pheonix glared, “I left my family on my own. Why I left is no one’s frigging business- especially not yours, old man.”
“You all shout a lot,” Aki interrupted, walking toward them. “You all keep talking about Hito’s wishes and whatnot… But really, why don’t you just try asking him what he wants?”
“He doesn’t want anything.” His father said, glaring to Aki. “He said so himself- do with him what I want. He doesn’t care.”
“Because he’s looking for your approval!” Aki and Pheonix shouted together.
Aki continued, “You’re so busy looking at his faults that you can’t see what a great son you really have. You’re so blind- you should be the one to get that operation!”
Hito looked up a bit, seeming to snap out of a zombie state he went into when he’d told his father to have him.
Mastuki nodded, walking toward them. “Sir… With all absence of respect, I kindly propose that I take Hito off your hands.”
“Pardon?”
“Give me him.” Mastuki repeated. “You don’t want a son that’s got silver eyes, do you? So why not get your dearly beloved wife pregnant again and have another baby- who will be correct?”
Hito looked to his father slowly, watching him think.
The minutes seemed to pass slowly as Hito’s father paced the room in deep thought about the proposal.
Finally he stopped walking, “Fine. You can have Hito, but on one condition.”
“…What?” Asuka asked slowly.
“Pay me 3 million for him.”
“WHAAAAT?!” everyone but Hito shouted.
Pheonix ran up to Hito’s father and grabbed him by the chest, “You tryin’ to clean me out? I already paid for that tuition for that school-- and now you want three million for a kid you don’t even want!?”
He nodded, pushing Pheonix off him. “Exactly. What people want badly enough they are willing to pay anything for. It’s a well-known fact in business.”
Aki looked to Hito, watching the blond hang his head. Then he looked back to the group, watching them all with frowns and sadness. No one there had enough money to spare. Not without starving for the rest of their lives.
Pheonix cursed, opening his wallet and threw a credit card to the floor. “Take it! My stupid credit card’s there. That account has more than enough to satisfy you, you greedy bastard!”
He smiled as he knelt over and picked up the card. “Thank you… Now get what you need and get out.” He walked over to Hito, putting a hand on his head. Silence hung for a moment and then the one word to make Asuka, Aki and Pheonix snap. “Failure.”
All three boys dashed at Hito’s father, who ran out of the room. Butlers and maids stopped the boys from following.
Noah walked over to Hito, turning to look at his face. “You hear that? You get to come back!” He tried to smile. “So… You will come, won’t you?”
Hito looked up slowly to the sad-faced Noah. He turned and looked at Mastuki and the others, then over to the three who were coming back.
