Mission Objective: Get scanned/Hang out

The secretary looked them both  over, handing them each a small disc encased in a clear liquid plastic. "These data chips will broadcast your first assignment, please go to the next room for your Xeer clearance, the Headquarters will be in touch with you soon, thank you for coming"

The two nodded and walked through the clear white hallways toward the next room, the carpet was black, the cyborgs that wandered the hall waved at them, dressed like everyday people, in business suits and hospital clothing. The two stared in awe at the surrounding area as they walked.

The hall split into four sections, one led to an indoor open air garden surrounded by a large glass dome above, benches lined the garden walk ways, ad runners floated through the landscape, different ads for new cyborg enhancements and natural oil cycling on their screens. Cybernetic butterflies fluttered throughout the garden as the natural plants soaked in the light of the moon. Hospital scrub wearing cyborgs wandered the gardens, Naganata stood in the opening to this room for a long time, watching the moonlight filter through the checker patterned dome.

The second section split into two different hallways, one was a series of rooms marked 'Xeer Clearance' the other was a series of rooms labeled 'Reconditioning Room' Jia-Jing raised an eyebrow and headed down the second hallway dragging Naganata along with him, he never got to observe the third and fourth sections, but the smell of human food hit him as they passed the third hall, so it had to be some kind of food court. It's a food court must be from the smell it's giving off. He thought this as they headed into the Xeer Clearance room.

Several cyborgs, four men and two women, each dressed in yellow scrubs with short bob cut hair styles sat in floating chairs that were connected to counters with red chairs similar to the ones in the lobby. The two sat down and placed their arms on the counter, a machine popped up to surround their wrists once more, a glowing blue light covering them. The cyborgs pressed the small devices on the sides of their heads, screens popping up inside their individual Virtua brains to scan and analyze the Xeers of the two young men.

The two watched them closely, looking between themselves as the cyborgs continued to scan their Xeers.

"All clear, you are free to go"

Jia-Jing stared at Naganata as the other rubbed his own wrist. "I think that went well! It's amazing to see a human with the Xeer" They walked away from the building and headed toward Naganata's home.

"They said they would get in contact with us soon, don't know how soon though"

"We will just have to see! things will work out Jia-jing, you'll see"

They entered his home and sat down on his couch, closing the door behind them both. It was a quiet evening after that, they watched a news report about a very interesting subject.

"The newest Xeer enhancement has arrived!" an image of a fluffy shoulder length haired male appeared on the floating television runner, he was turned around and seven ports in the back of his neck could be seen. "Brand new! Improved! Cybernetic eye enhancements to beef up your Xee security! Protect your Virtua brain with these new enhancements today!" the model was turned around and his eyes were scanned by a blue light.

"Refreshing! This new enhancement is government approved! Increase your Xee security sevenfold! your mental capabilities will be increased, your ability to acess The Network will be sped up! No more wait times between Xee jumps! Become a Specter today! Work for the good of humanity! only eight hundred million Sites or one hundred million Credits! Come in to Ghost Corp for your enhancement today!"

The news commercial ended and the two started to laugh, "No one can afford a hundred million credits so easily, much less eight hundred million sites, I don't understand why the government is pushing these big new enhancements, who needs to Xee jump that many times in sucession anyway?" Naganata said this as he crossed his legs.

Jia-Jing nodded in agreement, "yea, it's not like being a Specter is some huge thing, we aren't even officially Phantoms yet"

Naganata sighed and chuckled, "Yea, it's not like Specters are going to matter in the long run, it's just some government ploy to increase taxes on the masses and diverge the mass media from the real facts and problems of the world."

The purple and black haired human ran a hand through his own hair, "Yea, what's the emperor even doing about all this anyway? Does the prime minister not realize he has to go through the emperor's approval before any of the clinical trials are even set or tested? There's no point in pushing these products on the public knowing that only the really wealthy will be able to afford it."

An alarm runner went screaming through the house, "we can talk more about the political standpoints of propaganda later, we're late for school."

They both went to get changed in separate bathrooms, coming out in maid uniforms. "This will never not be embarrassing."

"Your parents signed us up for Her Lady Of Grace Maid Wars Academy why again?"

"Shut up Naganata."
