Property of Seehr Ulnedre
I’m doing the unconventional and writing a journal, diary, or something like that documenting my life right now. I will write down any clues I get about my current situation.
A few days ago I woke up in a cold metallic room. I’ve been able to explore quite far inside of where I am. It seems to be a big factory. I have a yet to see any actual people, although I have encountered machines capable of speaking, although their dialogue is normally rather automated or childlike.
I have no clue how I got here. I have yet to find a way to an outside area. This place is massive. I’ve been to so many different rooms. The letters RHI are plastered on walls and posters all over.
I remember very little of my life before the factory. I remember I have a wife and I worked in the Syomill Republic? That or United Federation. I remember my name, Seehr, and that I’m 30 something years old. That’s it.
Every day I explore a little more then go back to the room I first woke up in. The room is just big enough to fit a bed, sink, and toilet, along with a closet and a few dressers. On the first day I went to the hallway my room is in. Every other room in the hallway is locked and sealed shut. The end of the hallway opens up into a very large room that looks like a cafeteria. I get my food from there.
This room has the first one of the machines I’ve encountered, a very rusty mechanical robot. I’ve named them Eatre. Eatre sits at a table in the cafeteria with a tray in front of them. They are generally kind although removing their tray makes them angry and they’ll claim I’m stealing their food (even though their tray is empty). Their physical appearance is hard to explain. Eatre appears to be a complex blob of wires, gears, motherboards, etc. They aren’t very smart but do seem to have a basic level of interaction skill, that of a 9 year old. Each day I walk by Eatre they greet me, although I personally haven’t given them my name, as I don’t want to trust these machines with much personal info.
Many rooms are boring, and mostly empty, only containing rusted bed frames or miscellaneous metal parts. Some rooms will have intriguing things. Vague details on where I am, new robots, and helpful tools. Occasionally I’ll find a big wide room, most different in design. Just earlier today I went further then I’ve gone before and found a massive room full of industrial computers. In the back I found a pen and an empty book on a table. This is how I was able to start documenting this all.
Today I discovered 2 notable things. In the hallway leading up to the large room full of computers there, for once, was an unsealed and unlocked door. I opened it only to find a seemingly never ending stair case down. On the other end of the computer room, I found another hallway but at the end was a door that was locked. I decided to put it off till tomorrow when I would bring my lock picks and spend the time to get it open.
I’m lucky about one thing. Many of the robots I’ve found are stuck to walls or don’t have legs. This helps lessen my fear of going into a new room because I’ve never found a robot that can move. I’ve encountered 184 robots, not a single one the same. They started with Eatre and most recently ended with a robot I simply named Huma due to their resemblance to a human.
I’ve had it easy so far here in this factory, but one question still stands, where am I?
