The whole day went by in a blur, all Sam could think of was the card in his pocket.
When he finally got off work in the afternoon, he drove straight home, his parents apartment.
His parents were very protective of him, and said he could live with them as long as he had too. Sam parked his car and went inside, heading straight to his bedroom.
There, he flopped on his bed and considered the small rectangular paper he had been thinking about all day.
What should I do? Thought Sam. Should I text the number? No, of course not. Why did he give it to me anyway? He took out his iPhone and slowly typed in the number.
His parents were always telling him to be more adventurous, to get out there and meet people. They wouldn’t mind, right? Sam gnawed his lip and typed a quick message, mashing the send button before he could change his mind.

Sam: Is this MinJoon?
Almost immediately the three dots appeared, and a reply popped up.
Unknown Number: Yes, are you the cute barista?
Sam: My name is Sam. Why did you give me your number?
Minjoon: Because you’re cute and life is short. 😉
Sam: But why me? We never met before. What do you want from me?
Minjoon: Well I actually need help with something.
Sam: I knew it. No one would would just spontaneously be nice to me. You probably don’t actually even like guys.
Minjoon: Sam that’s not true. I could’ve asked anyone for help, but I wanted you.And I assure you I like guys. 😂
Sam: Well what do you need help with?
Minjoon: It’s kind of a long story. Can we meet up somewhere and talk about it?
Sam: I don’t know, that sounds sketchy, Sorry.
Sam blocked the number and put down his phone. He wondered if he should tell his parents. And how did this MinJoon guy even know he was gay? Sam bit his lip. He couldn’t help feeling disappointed, MinJoon was so handsome. But Sam had never had a boyfriend. He was foolish to think he could.
