“WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?!” MinJoon’s voice was loud and shook with rage. Every eye in the restaurant looked up. “How dare you talk to my boy like that!!! Or any human on this planet! Your gonna pay for that buddy! I will sue your freakin pants off!” MinJoon let go of the mans arm, shoved him backwards, and rushed back to Sam. Sams eyes were tearful and he looked scared.
“I’m so sorry baby. It’s ok now.” MinJoon gave Sam a warm hug.
Someone must have called the manger, because an important looking man came out from the back looking angry.
“What going on?” He demanded. MinJoon didn’t say anything, he was as worried he would get in trouble for yelling at the waiter. But he didn’t have to say anything.
The lady waitress from earlier spoke up.
“Mr. Smithers was harassing these gentleman.” She said, pointing in Sam and MinJoon’s direction. A look of understanding crossed the mangers face, and then was replaced with rage. The manger stormed over to ‘mr. Smithers.’
“That’s IT, Smithers! You’re done here! GET OUT!” The manger pointed at the door with a shaking finger.
“But-“
“OUT!”
Smithers scrambled out the door with everyone glaring at him. When the door swung shut behind him, the restaurant erupted in cheers. MinJoon met Sams eyes and they smiled. The manger walked over to them with his head low.
“Gentlemen. I am so, so sorry for the terrible inconvenience. You are not the first couple that **** has harassed. I kept letting him off easy, but my boyfriend told me I should just fire him. Please enjoy a full lunch and desert on us in return. Let me also give you a $500 giftard to eat here free.”
To Sam and MinJoon’s surprise and happiness, several customers approached them to give them words of encouragement and support. It seemed like everyone wanted them to know that most people are kind and welcoming. Sam found that really nice, sometimes all you see is the hate, because hate is louder than love.
They had a very nice lunch, and they ordered a lot because it was free.
By the time they got home, it was time to prepare dinner.
“What should I do Sam,” Said MinJoon anxiously, “should I pick up sushi? Should I try to bake something?”
“No, definitely don’t make something yourself.” Sam cautioned.
“Is my cooking so bad?”
Sam hesitated, and MinJoon nodded. “Your right. What should I do?”
“I can make something.” Sam suggested, looking around the kitchen.
“But you’re my guest! I don’t want you to do any work.” Said MinJoon, sinking down on the couch.
“What if I want to cook. You wouldn’t stop me from doing something I really want to do, right?”
MinJoon smiled and shook his head.
“You got me Sam. The kitchen is yours.”
Sam assembled the ingredients for an easy but tasty dinner, pasta, roasted vegetables, and cupcakes for desert. MinJoon flitted around nervously while Sam cooked. He tried to help, but spilled flour on the floor and burnt the butter for the pasta.
Sam had to melt new butter while MinJoon mopped the floor. The dinner was done by five, and they laid it out on the table in MinJoon’s best dishes. Sam noticed MinJoon nervously biting his nails, and pacing across the foyer as they waited for bumsoo Kim. Sam shuffles over to MinJoon’s and held out his arms, offering a hug. MinJoon beamed and gladly pulled Sam into a warm hug.
“I’m glad your here.” He said quietly. Sam just nodded, feeling shy. At that moment, the door bell chimed.
