There Emma stood, just as shocked as I am. The sight before us was something we could not explain. My father's clock was at 6 am, and my father and brother were both in the air. Frozen. My father had been playing with my brother, tossing him ever so gently into the sky like he had been ever since our mother’s passing. He must have slipped.
“Kristen-”
“Em, let’s just.” I interrupted her. Though, I started talking not knowing what to say. I was speechless. I waited, seconds passed, minutes passed, half an hour maybe passed. I no longer knew what time it was.The clock still read 6 am, the meteorite was stationary. I was scared.
“This..is real right?” I asked myself, I had to. I was not sure anymore, honestly speaking here, this entire situation is straight out of a novel.
“Kristen?” Emma was trying to call me. I was frozen, I could not comprehend what was right in front of me. I didn’t want to. The thought that this was real made my head hurt, My body was shaking. I walked forward.
“Uhm, Kristen, your scaring me” Emma was still trying to call for me, I heard her but wanted to reassure myself. I needed to steel myself. I need to do this.
“It’s ok Em.” I said looking at Emma with a gentle smile. I waved my hand all over them. First under my father’s legs that were off the ground, I felt nothing. Second under my brothers body, nothing again. Third in between my father and brother, there was again nothing. Air, maybe 3 inches of air. I lost hope. My family and Emma were all I had..
“Hello~ baby Kristen~” My mother’s voice rang in my head this day, it was my third birthday. And possibly the last good conversation I could have with her.
“Oh come on honey, he should find out now sooner than later. Go ahead.” My father says, he said it with excitement. I could tell something was up.
“Oh, ok, Kris we have not told you this on purpose. I think it is time, your going to have a sister!” My mother said this with extreme excitement, I was three yet I still just sat there to the news. I wanted her to be happy so I smiled and raised my hands with excitement.
I never did get to meet my sister..
A week later my mother died in a plane accident, it was a lightning strike. Just on the wing. The plane landed in the ocean, two survivors. Neither my mother. It was me and my father.
I survived because when it struck my father did everything necessary for me in a rushed way and could not do the same to my mother and so lost time.
A couple years later my father met my step mother, Destine Smith. They got together from her comforting him and his trauma. I did not like her, and my father wants a kid with her. It is a bad idea in my opinion but I am a child, so what.. I’m ok though, as long as my father is.
It’s November 15, 2030. I'm now 13, my newborn brother is sitting in my lap. He cries a lot.
“Come on dude, quiet down.” I said silently, he surprisingly obeyed. This is my brother Sakeri Horace. My step mother has left, my father is heart broken.
Today
“Father, Sakeri, I’m sorry I cannot help you anymore.” I said this without realizing. I had thought of what I need to do.
“What are you saying?” Emma asked from confusion.
“Emma we have to learn to survive. I am currently hungry, this proves we are not frozen, only time.
"There must be others, and from all my manga I think that there will be untrustworthy people.” I said this on purpose, not to make her scared, but paranoid. We are currently alone and that’s the situation, we should get her brother and find a way to survive. That's the goal
