The next day Jasper proposed we went out to go look for stuff. When looking for anything really we thought we should specify what we want.
“Okay, the goal should be food.” I proposed, we were walking down corridors and down streets.
“I support that.” Jasper agreed.
“Wha then” Elly wrote. In response we all started looking at each other.
“Uhm….guns” Emma added.
“Through here” I said then pointed down a corridor,
“Guns?” I immediately questioned. “Why would we need guns? Who would operate them?”
“Who knows how?” Jasper then added.
“I don't really know, I just figured we would ya know. Seems kind of important especially sense others are here and awake and attacking”
“Not wrong” Elly wrote.
“I don’t think that’s a need right now to be honest…” I slowly added.
“I can see the truth in it. I guess, let’s go through here.” I pointed into an alleyway.
“Anyways, there's a gun store. I’ll go in and try to find something, Em come with me. Jas take Elly and don’t be seen. Come out when I do.” I said immediately. “I will look for some guns ok, to make you happy. Don’t get me wrong though, we will probably not use it. If anything we want ammo for the pistol we already have.”
“Understood” Emma said, as I was walking in she stayed behind and added “You're already acting as a leader..” She turned around and looked at me through the darkness. The building had been run into by a car, many windows were broken and it looked ransacked.
“Thank you Kristen”
I then stared forward. I turned around and looked her in the eyes, I never left the darkness. The shadow leaned over me while the light shined across her back.
“No need to thank me Em, just doing what I do.” I said, I leaned against a locker in the building because my vision got a bit hazy. I had a bad feeling, but continued onward towards what I was here for.
“Guns, lets go.” I said turning around on my way to the store room.
We went on into the back rooms, through a security sensor that had not worked because of it being frozen I assumed. When I crossed the back counter I noticed the guy taking the night shift was frozen, in the perfect position to be staring at me. Unsettling.
“Damn..” I said immediately from the shock of realization.
“Scaredy cat” Emma responded smiling and laughing.
“Oh yea sure Em, ok”
To my surprise a guy pulled up, pointed a gun straight to my head. This situation was not new, it had happened before.
“Du-dude. Look man, I don’t wan-want any beef. Tell him I-I’m not in it an-anymore!” An obviously scared guy. I calmly turned around and stated,
“Dude look, I don’t know who you’re talking about but listen. I just came here for like two pistols and I’m gone. Won’t see me again.” I responded calmly. On the inside I was honestly screeching. I assume he could feel my fear, but with that also thought we were in the same boat.
“O-Ok. Look. I’m not doing anything ok, you can take your two pistols but leave immediately and tell no one I was here!” He proposed.
“Done” I said.
“9-4-2-7-2” Was all he said. Then he ran.
“9-4-2-7-2?” I questioned and looked at Em. Shrugged and said,
“Combination I guess?”
“Are they that long?” I questioned.
“We can only find out I guess.” She responded. To which I just said “Sure”.
We continued into the store and found the locked door. I’m not good at combinations so Emma did that code.
“Hole-ly shit” I said, a lot of emphasis in holy.
“God dang..” Emma responded quietly.
