I winced as I sat down on his table, almost making an audible sound at my head pounding so hard I could hear it.

     "You okay?" Axl asked, glancing back at me with concern in his eyes, possibly even pity. That bitch.

     I growled my response, though it sounded like a whimper instead. "No, idiot, I fell off a building like five minutes ago."

     Axl laughed a bit, trying to cover it up but failing "Five minutes? It was an hour"

     My eyes grew wide. "So you let me almost bleed out on your couch for an hour??"

     "No? I patched up your head." he responded, shuffling around his kitchen, his back turned to me. 

     I put my hand to my head, just realizing the bandage wrapped around it. Weird. I should have noticed that. I stared at the bulge in his back as he moved around with such fluent motions that you could tell he does this often.

     "So you like to cook?" I asked, my eyes still fixed on his back.

     He nodded, throwing some vegetables into the pan of bubbling liquid. I hate to admit, but it smelled pretty good.

     "How about you?"

     I scoffed, resting my head on my hand. "I don't cook."

     He paused for a moment, looking back at me "Then how do you eat?"

     "I... don't?" I responded, shrugging "This is the first time I've even thought about it in weeks."

     His face fell as he turned back to the food in front of him, then took it and moved it onto two plates, walking over and setting one in front of me, then one across from it. He then motioned me over, so I carefully got up and walked a little closer.

     "What's up?' I asked, not being able to look at his face

     Suddenly he pulled me into a hug, and I couldn't help but yelp in surprise. He squeezed me as tightly yet gently as he could, burring his face in my shoulder. I felt my face grow more and more red. Awkwardly, I put my hands on his back, since I had no idea what to do. It was only then did I clearly feel something beneath the fabric of his sweatshirt...
