I stood walking through town looking for food and things we needed at good prices to make sure the money I got stretches to last us a while.

"Alaki?" A voice asked and I turned to see the Pharmacist stood outside his shop "I've been meaning to have a word with you"

"Ohh yeah Hi" I smiled going into his shop with him

"Firstly How's Markus?"

"Not so good, his cough still hasn't cleared and he's mostly been sleeping with me and Eliza" I answered as he took me to the back and made me a cup of tea

"well bring him back in when you have a free day and I'll give him another check over"

"Thanks" I smiled sipping the tea "what did you want to see me about?"

"Ahh, Are you still looking for a job?" He asks

"Yeah, desperately looking"

"Well, My assistant is leaving him and his wife are moving down to the countryside before she has her next baby" he explained "so... I have a position open? Are you interested?"

"Absolutely!" I said very excitedly

"Perfect, he leaves next Monday so if you can start next Tuesday?"

"Thats amazing thank you so much!" I smiled "How... how uhh how much?" I asked

"sixteen pounds," he says

"Ohh thats fine-" I began

"A week"

"A- A Week!" I yelled in shock

"and of course fifty percent off, all pharmacy items," he says "so?"

"Oh my god! that would be amazing!"

"Perfect I'll see you when you bring Markus in then," he says

"Yeah I'll see you" I smiled finishing the tea and running home as fast as I could until I saw Eliza stood outside the house so I ran up to her and gave her the tightest hug I could

"Ohh Hello Alaki," she says

"Ohh, Eliza! I have amazing news" I smiled kissing her head but then I noticed the tears on her face "Eliza? What's the matter? You've been crying? What's wrong?"

"Alaki... I think you should come and sit down" she says making me sit at the table as she wiped away tears

"Eliza please whats wrong? why are you crying?" I asked holding her hand

"Alaki... while you were out, Markus coughing go worse and worse, I ran him hot water, I tried getting him to sleep but after a while of him being asleep his wheezing just... stopped," she said

"well thats good maybe it worked-" I began

"Markus stopped breathing," she says

"S-stopped?" I asked my eyes flooding with tears

"I'm so sorry Alaki," she said hugging me tightly as she also cried I held her close too "The mortician already took him"

"Markus is really gone?" I asked and she nods "Well... At least he's with Mother" I told her after a while

"Ummm your right," she says "But uhh what's your news?" she says

"I uhh I got a job, at the pharmacy. sixteen pounds a week" I told her

"Aww Alaki thats great," she says trying her best to force a smile, "I think we should go for an early night"

"Yeah, let's check on the others and get to bed," I told her
