I think Cathryn can only really do more if she starts realizing what is up with her as well. Otherwise she might end up the exact same way.
At least that is how I get it. The curse of madness gets worse as you try to deny it and lie to yourself about the illusions you are seeing. That is a guess based on a bunch of older pages so I can be really totally off here!
In the country of Distantland, nothing is as it seems. Cathryn, a young human girl, prides herself on her knowledge.
