They finally reach home, the three yuns going to meet the Master’s and give them the report.
Odel has a distant look, and Valerie’s eyes were filled with nothingness. The three bowed and Amon did the talking.
“My three Masters, may Eden bless you. We successfully obtained the stolen credits. Unfortunately, he was killed, as they attacked us”.
His gaze goes to Valerie and she caves in.
“Who was it?”, Vina asks.
“It was me. I killed him” she says with no delay. Kion gets furious with her. “Why can you just not, for once, do what it is asked?!”.
She doesn’t answer back, and Odel is monitoring her every move. “Master, there was an important reason she had to come to this. The reason is this” and with a swift movement, he opens the case, and the Indigo stone pops out. Their eyes sparkle and Kion forgot all the reasons to hate Valerie this time.
“He had the Indigo stone, and this became priority. He wouldn’t let go, and she had to come to this or he would hunt us down”.
Valerie realises that he is covering for her. Kion grabs the stone and forgets all about the “failed” mission. Vina thanks them for their work and Odel is silent.
He looks at Valerie, knowing that something else is going on. She won’t talk, or look at him, as she knows he will see right through her.
The party was about to leave, with Vina’s blessing. Amon was side-looking his friend that emanated a cold feeling, as she was untouchable, and if you were to come close to her, you might lose a hand.
Odel noticed her change, little by little, becoming something that wasn’t the rebel girl he knew.
“Tomorrow we have to meet with mr Wan and give him his credits and get with the exchange. Don’t be late”.
“Let’s go Nora” she said and changed paths from Amon. She didn’t allow him to say anything, as what she was about to do, a plan that she sculptured the moment she had Nora under her wing.
“It’s time you know. Are you ready?” she asks her with a breaking voice. Nora looks down, sadness has engulfed her.
“Are you sure Val? They will kill you”.
Nora is afraid that if they choose this, she will lose her important friend.
Valerie smiles at her, looking at the sky. “Nora, I don’t think I feel alive now. I don’t remember my family. All I know is I was taken away from my father, a father that I can’t even remember his face. I have nothing to hold on to. Master Odel told me one day I will make an important decision that will change things. I think that day came. This place is corrupted and I want to do one good thing, my gut tells me that. I.. I feel Eden tells me that”.
From her eyes sparkles were flaming, a roar that could be heard from miles away, left her body. She was determined to do whatever it takes. Nora couldn’t help but believe in her, trust her and follow her lead. Her spirit unbreakable.
Nightfall came, and Valerie waited for the last sunlight to be engulfed in the night’s vail. She jumped out of bed, wearing her battle uniform. She climbed down her room, going inside the forest where everything was planned.
Nora was waiting in there, no one could see her as she could easily blend in. Valerie knew she couldn’t depend on Guardian technology, but to bring from the other systems, something that would get them through this desolate place.
“Remember the plan?” she said to her. Nora nodded with certainty and fierce look. They both made a run for the portal.
The girls were ready to fight anyone in their way. As long as the Masters wouldn’t know, it would be easier for them to escape.
Valerie was planning this for a while, sneaking in things from other systems, things that would allow their escape to the 5th Region, the Obsidian Kingdom.
The Obsidian region it’s a technologically advanced Kingdom, with freedom and travel fast as light. There she could hide her magic powers so she won’t be tracked. Also, as it’s a place of a lot of different alien species, they wouldn’t care that a Noa and a unknown origin humanoid were there. They are a Region that don’t do well with the Legion, so a Guardian would have trouble to enter there.
The moon was set up high to light their way, as both girls were trying to hide their aura. On her expeditions, Valerie found a desolate dwarf planet near Cuarson. There, she has hided a small ship she got from a trader. The problem is getting there. They will need the portal.
Both girls are cautious, walking slowly, making sure no sound will be made. “Ok Nora, you are up” and with that, she makes herself invisible and moves to the console to enter the coordinates.
The coordinates are set, but a serene starts screaming, as an unauthorized entering has occurred. The guards are coming their way and both girls have taken fighting positions.
“Tia, come forth!” she howls and her Item appears, black as the night.
“Nordene, come forth!” and Nora’s Item appears an emerald green glass ball.
Nordene floats around and the guards charge in. She stuns the guard on the front and Valerie comes for the blow.
Nora’s Item is a fully magical ball, made to stun, shield, and cause explosions.
Both girls have taken the whole squad down. Valerie is holding back, as she doesn’t want to wake up the big guns.
Nora’s eyes go dark, as she has seen a ghost. But it is just her ability to sense things and people, before they even appear in the picture, and she is ‘seeing’ someone coming.
