With a soft hand over my mouth I slowly freak out. I just hoped Harvasha got away. Before I knew it, I started to cry.
“ John, John calm down. It’s me” harvasha whispered. I looked up only to remember we were in a shed with no light. My muffled voice winced in joy to know that we were both safe. Harvasha slowly takes her hand off my mouth,
“ you have to keep quiet. We can’t out run them but we can wait things out.” taking a deep breath in relief.
“ Harvasha,”
“Yeah?”
“ I'm half naked in a shed and hiding from what looks like a fucking cult. I’m freaking out!” her hand smacks me in the face as she rushes to cover my mouth once more,
“ you have to shut that fuck up. Got it?” I frantically nodded my head, my eyes starting to water from the pain in my face,
“ that hurt you know.” I softly rub my face.
“ sorry.” she said. Then leaning over to hug me when we heard,
“ did you find them?” a man with a gruff voice asked.
“ no sir, we saw something this way but they stopped making noise near the shed.” a kid, that didn’t sound much older then the hiding teens exclaimed.
“ Did you check the shed by any chance?” he said. his voice sounded frustrated and annoyed.
“ n-no. It’s just-”
“ check the shed, boy.”
“ yes sir.” the footsteps from outside the shed came closer and closer. The panic began to rise in harvasha and i.
“ what do we do? What do we do?” I whispered frantically.
“ just stay quiet. calm down, john.” her voice was shaky and I no longer felt reassured by her words. The door opened, and in walked the kid. At first it felt that we still had a chance to get away, it’s dark and as long as we keep quiet we won’t be found. I started to calm down in that realization but then we heard a click, he had a flashlight. My heart rate was so high it felt like I was going to die right there. Suddenly, harvasha pushed me into a pile of something causing a loud noise, I thought she had lost her mind when the light had pointed toward her.
“ what are you doing?” the boy said with true concern in his voice.
“ Jamie please, Don’t say anything. you owe me, remember?” the atmosphere was so thick it was like breathing while swimming in melted butter.
“ okay, okay but meet me back here, lee. I need to know what happened.” he said. Though i was confused he called her lee, was there something she wasn’t telling me?
“Fine, just get sir away from here, okay.”
“ okay.” the boy walked back out, back to the man. I got up from the pile I was hiding in and reached out for harvasha, or lee. Whoever she is.
“ how do you know him and why did he call you lee?” I felt slightly betrayed and I just had to know.
“ let’s get out of here first. When we’re safe i’ll tell you.”
