Fun fact, where I grew up I heard a lot of rumor about a place behind the mall near a small forest, where a lot of dark stuff happened.
Among the usual paranormal stuff, what got me the most was the "real" events like brutal incidents, murders, and such.
I didn't think about it when writing this comic but I can see how this experience bled into the story.
