Thea was raped by an elf in the past, wasn't she? In episode 11, she hesitates and looks a bit unhappy when she mentions elves when she's telling Noth about all of the non-humans she's met when she was living in the city. In the previous episode, it seems that she was pregnant-possibly with twins, and now she is at this home for the improvement of young ladies--which actually doesn't seem so helpful with all of those dirty, creepy uncles running around to "help."
