The car slows down and pulls to a curb. The headlights are switched off, the doors are opened and closed immediately afterwards, disturbing the silence of the night. Alex goes around the car and meets Selena. The siblings look at the device that spookily illuminates their faces; then they look at the landscape where the flashing point might be. They start walking, leaving the road behind. Because of the many rainy days, the ground is soft and gives way with the weight of their bodies, the boots and hems of their pants get muddy. As they move up, the green circle starts to change colour, which makes both of them to speed up. It is not supposed to turn red, for now it’s only orange. The urgency of the bleeping ends when they finally arrive at their destination. Alex takes a small black box from his jeans pocket and takes out a silver metal object in the shape of a pencil. With the tip it touches the ground which lights up in white. Small sparkling crystals materialize which come loose and float until they dissipate in the air a few moments later. Selena stares at the small points of light but immediately turns her head to the ground when she feels a slight tremor under her feet. The sensation of something approaching the surface carries on until a fat cat-sized mole appears in the middle of a mound that looks at the two beings right in front of him. He sniffs the air and turns to the man on his left and waits. Alexander, after shaking his head almost imperceptibly, gives the animal a small sample of the already solidified crystals. Instantly the mole tucks it between his dark and shiny fur. Before quickly disappearing through the hole, he looks at the young woman, takes a deep breath, and goes down. A small amount of raised soil is the only proof of his presence there.
