I woke up when the first rays of sunlight started seeping through the blinds. I felt around the bed for my phone, out of instinct, and stopped when my hand touched something soft and warm just next to me which I couldn’t quite identify. I opened my eyes to find... a person.
More specifically, a girl.
Even more specifically, Amelia.
The redhead turned around, half asleep, until she was facing me, and whispered.
“Good morning, honey.”
I buried my face in the pillow. I was embarrassed, but also happy. Hearing Amelia call me “honey” first thing in the morning was probably the very definition of bliss, and realizing that made me feel a little bashful.
Unfortunately, that seemed to send the wrong message to Amelia.
“Hannah? Is something wrong?” she asked, with marked concern in her voice.
I started giggling. Then I turned my head on the pillow to look at her. “It’s nothing, really,” I told her. “Why are you here, exactly?”
Amelia’s eyebrows shot up. “You... called me over, remember?”
Suddenly my face fell. “Oh,” I said, remembering the letter from Michael. “Sorry about that.”
“About what?”
“Calling you so late at night, and asking you to come over. I shouldn’t have done that. Did I snore? I think I snore, sometimes.”
Amelia chuckled. “I don’t think so? I slept really well.”
“That’s good,” I said. “Just to be clear on something, we didn’t have sex, did we?”
“What?!” she asked, somewhat amused. “Of course not. Why would you even think that?”
“Oh, just, you know... I’ve heard people say they wake up with someone in their bed, sometimes, and they can’t remember if they had sex with them or not. I just wanted to make sure this wasn’t one of those situations.”
Amelia smirked at me. “You know, that only happens when people drink.”
Realization hit me. “Right! Yes! That makes sense.”
My girlfriend burst out laughing. It annoyed me slightly.
“Stop laughing,” I ordered, but she ignored me.
Oh, so this is how you want to play, Amelia? I thought, before hitting her face with a pillow. She fought back, and soon it turned into a full-fledged pillow fight. Five minutes later, we fell on the mattress together, exhausted and ecstatic. I stared into her eyes, feeling giddy all over again.
“It’s been so long since I last had a pillow fight,” I confessed.
“I don’t think I’ve ever had one,” said Amelia.
“What? Seriously?”
She nodded. “I didn’t have many friends, growing up.”
“Not even with your brother?”
“Nope,” she admitted.
“Oh, I see...” I told her. “So is this, like... your first time?”
Amelia stared at me sideways, smirking. “It’s way too early in the morning for sexual innuendos.”
“I disagree,” I said, before moving to straddle her. Amelia opened her mouth to protest, but I placed a finger in front of her lips, silencing her, and started planting kisses on her neck and shoulders. Amelia whimpered when I slid my hands under her shirt, but didn’t resist when I pulled it over her head. I took a moment to look at her, then. She had small breasts and a slender figure, and watching her like that, naked from the waist up, made me realize three things.
One: Wow, I really am dating a girl.
Two: Amelia is hot.
Three: I am so damn gay.
I cupped her breasts, and fondled them, slowly. Amelia closed her eyes, leaned her head back a little, and bit her lower lip. Damn it. Seeing her like that made me want to ravage her right away. I moved my hands lower, feeling her skin under my fingertips, and was about to slide her shorts down the girl’s legs, when she stopped me.
“Wait,” said the girl, panting slightly. “We can’t.”
I pulled back, slightly frustrated.
“Sorry. I... didn’t mean to. Is it still too early for us to be doing this?”
Amelia smiled, and looked at me with kindness. “That’s not what I meant,” she said. “It’s just that it’s Wednesday, and I have classes in the morning.”
“Oh, you’re right, me too,” I realized. “Damn.”
We laughed about it together. Amelia gave me a peck on the lips, and got off the bed. “Do you mind if I use your shower?” she asked.
“All yours,” I replied. “Do you need me to lend you some clothes?”
“Nope, I’m good. When you asked me to come, yesterday, I figured there was a chance I might end up staying over, so I came prepared.” Amelia walked into the bathroom. “Thanks for lending me the pajamas, thought, that totally slipped my mind.”
“Just admit that you thought we were going to sleep in the nude,” I teased, making her laugh.

Driving to campus with Amelia riding shotgun was rather nice. We chatted casually about our classes and teachers, favorite spots in campus, subjects we had difficulties with, and so forth. I realized that we had jumped into a relationship a little quickly, and only now were we really starting to get to know each other.
“No Abba this time?” she asked at some point.
“Nope,” I replied. “I asked Lydia to stop leaving her stuff in my car. It worked, for the time being. I give her... maybe two or three weeks before she forgets about it and starts doing it all over again. It might not be Abba anymore by then. She’s had an Adele phase, then a Lady Gaga phase, a Backstreet Boys phase... now Abba.”
“Sounds like her choices are getting cheesier with time,” Amelia joked, making me snicker.
“You’re welcome to bring your own songs when we ride together,” I suggested. “Don’t let Lydia monopolize our music.”
“Thanks, but I prefer to chat with my girlfriend,” she said.
“That was corny,” I retorted, even though it made me smile. “We can do both.”
“Then I’ll show you some songs, the next time we’re together, and you can tell me which ones you like. Sounds good?”
I nodded. “You know... It’s too bad that we had to leave early, today. It was nice waking up next to you, we should do that more often.”
“Three dates and you’re already asking me to move in with you? You’re a real lesbian, Hannah.”
“Bisexual,” I corrected her. “And you know I didn’t mean it like that.”
Amelia grinned. “Then what did you mean by that? Sex?”
I hit the brakes hard. It stalled the engine, since it was still in gear, and I heard people honking behind us, angry that I’d almost caused an accident.
“Getting shy, now?” Amelia teased. “You didn’t seem all that shy an hour ago, when you straddled me and stripped me.”
I shook my head, and started the engine again. “I swear, Mel, if you don’t stop teasing me while I’m driving I’m gonna crash this car just to make you choke on the airbags.”
“Oh, so you’re into that?”
“God!” I shouted, making Amelia laugh.
