Woodcrater was walking home from school. She knew the way by heart. She could do it with her eyes closed. In fact, at this moment, they were closed. She knew to turn left, then another left, then-
"Hey, watch out kid!"
Woodie's eyes shot open just as someone grabbed her backpack and flung her towards the sidewalk right as a truck sped by.
Woodie lay in absolute terror. Her entire body, frozen. Her heart beat was entirely too loud. She couldn't hear anything but...
"Kid-"
A voice. Right! She was saved!
She looked around, and saw a tall boy looming over her.
"Kid, are you okay?"
Woodie blinked. "Y-yeah." The boy held his hand out, and she took it and let him pull her to her unsteady feet. She looked at him. He was older, maybe around her brother's age.
"Thank you," Woodie said. The boy smiled.
"No problem."
Woodie hugged him. "You saved my life." She squeezed him tighter. "Thank you so much.
The boy, taken aback at first, hugged back. Woodie released after a moment and looked him in the eyes. His hands rested on her waist.
"I'm Woodie."
The boy smiled. "Francis."
Woodie looked at Francis' lips. Should she...?
She felt the hands that held her waist fall a bit and touch her rear end. She didn't mind.
"I owe you." Woodie slightly pressed against Francis' strong frame.
"Kiss me, then." Francis pulled Woodie closer. He slipped his hands in her back jean pockets.
Woodie blushed and pressed her lips to his. His lips tasted sweet, almost like strawberries. She adored strawberries.
She broke first. She slowly leaned off of his mouth and looked into his deep green eyes.
"I liked that," she said. Francis winked.
"Me, too."
