Mig: While writing this part of the story, I found out a couple of neat things about Phoenician writing. It had no vowels, so vowel sounds were implied only. Elissa => LS, but it could be ambiguous (Elsa would be the same). Also, some texts were boustrophedons - a fancy word meaning written both right-to-left and then left-to-right, alternating.

You have to be really schooled about that Phoenician writing. I do love his lounge and the stripe designs...just gorgeous.

Romance | Family Drama | Loose Historical

Elissa has just invented an unheard-of purple dye, but hasn't worked out how to turn her secret into money. A merchant's son spots a purple ribbon in her bag and tracks her down to offer a deal, giving her family... other ideas.

Historical flavor is Phoenician/Roman and Elissa's dye is based on Tyrian purple, a powder that was worth more than its weight in gold!
