I am now cornered with the draconic tactician as now my allies are now tracking for the dragon(s) that has manage to infiltrate the one place on Earth that couldn't get into without one hell of a fight and resistance. Dragons have tried and failed to enter Estelle without facing certain death, especially when the more powerful and senior Hybrids are here. I just have to keep this bastard distracted long enough. EDEN left me alone with him and I glare at the orb. I grit my teeth and glare at the orb with a hateful stare as my allies/colleagues as well as my friends are now keeping the public away from the area where the dragon and I are. I need to find a way to get the hell out of this situation and fast, I thought as I began looking around as the dragon and I are practically are in a social chess match. A battle of wills with incredibly high stakes when holding conversations with someone that can and will kill every single person within the facility or at least with high amount of collateral damage with casualties to match. I had no choice to play diplomat. Even though I really damn don't like it.
"So what do you want?" I snarl
"Why to chat of course~~" he sings
"And?"
"To get to know the one hybrid that has gotten His Grace in such a tizzy."
"What?" that threw me for a loop
"Oh? You didn't know?~~" He muses
"Didn't know what?"
"His Grace has gotten quite the interest in you. He wouldn't stop singing your praises. Even though you have been interfering with our plans."
This has gotten me really confused. Then it dawned on me. They only call one person 'Your Grace', it's the leader of The Celestial Dragons, The newest monarch of all of dragon kind.
Oh.
Shit.
The conversation went on with mainly doing everything I can to make sure that this being learns JACK about me. It's basically a battle of wills as we both talk while making sure that neither one learns anything that can be used later on. But I managed to get him to slip up only a little bit, it's that what the intruder is wearing, well he was complaining a little bit only to stop within seconds as I smile as I had open comms as soon as he complained about what his mole is wearing, a 'tacky black hoodie and those absolutely fucking ugly sweatpants', it wasn't much but it was what we had to go on as the way I got it is because I only admitted to making not just my uniform but everyone's uniform and accessories. "Can you please get some more details? There's literally over 200,000+ people with wearing those." Nina said,
"Nina. Calm down. She's got this. Now just focus on the race." Caesar soothes So she's racing at the moment as it seems,
"Yeah. It'll be fine." Yumi chimes in
I sigh as I kept going with the conversation with the dragon who is trying to regain some sort of footing as he knows that he might cost them his mission if he doesn't. We kept going on with our verbal chess game.
The pod soon vanished with the finishing words that will confuse me to the end of time, "Have fun with your festival and I hope you find a new fur baby!" I know for fact that Dragons don't keep their own pets. And not much is known about their personal lives and they keep their privacy like they would their own treasure trove. The dragon basically retreated before he could some information that might damn their ally.
"Eden please tell me you got that." I state as I put my hand to my comms in my ear,
"I did. That is incredibly confusing. I'm just as confused as you are." She states as she reappears before me.
"We can't let anyone know that we have a breach."
"What do you suggest we do?" Jo says
"Act like nothing deadly has happened nor act like anything is amiss. We can't afford mass panic." I answer coldly, "We have to continue the festival as normal." I say
"ARE YOU INSANE?!" Roared Fuma
"It's the only way to keep the dragons not kill everyone within two hundred miles and not destroy the college as well." I answer
"YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!!" Fuma roars again
"I will not have casualties. They are expecting us to shut down the festival in order to investigate. Do you want thousands of people leaving the festival grounds, the dragon cannot be found easily if at all and chances are incredibly high that they'll slip out of our hands without any problems. Then they'll retaliate of us shutting down this entire thing. Because despite what you think, they like festivals and shutting them down will cause them to go berserk. Especially when it's something one of such a good cause." I explain sharply, causing the man to go quiet, "you'll be the cause of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of deaths that could've easily be avoided. That blood is gonna be on your hands. Not mine." I snarl at him, "It'll be a repeat." They all know what I mean by that.
This outright silences the man but I keep talking, "YOU may be comfortable with sacrificing a small country. But I am not. And last I checked." I then give one hell of a hiss and outright scared the other hybrids that came near me as they resumed traffic of staff. "I have final say if the festival shuts down or not. NOT YOU!" I legit screamed the last two words. I screamed really damn loud too and the man's ears might be ringing.
"May that ringing you are suffering from be a reminder that you are at her mercy and that you aren't in control of this situation." Professor Horatius says, confirming what I had said...it was a bluff, but it turned out to be true. Victor wheeled his way to me, he began his questions and to see if I'm going to have an explosive episode. I have walked with him to one of boats to the lake.
