Nick didn't hesitate and told his parents carefully that his soul mate could be a boy, not a girl. They both accepted it well, basically counting on it when there were so many problems with the color of his eyes. They have no problem with that, they don't. The question is whether the boy and his family will be okay.
Nick began biting his nails that day, lost in thought, and often could not sleep. It was not very often that one male soul was born and split in two. It is something that society considers a mistake or a defect in the division of the soul at the new birth.
He was afraid of how it would all be, but he couldn't wait. What does he look like? Is it also as exceptional as their relationship will be? What smile belongs to those beautiful emerald eyes? How does he smell and how does his hug warm?
And the last question that flies through his mind: is he also thinking about what his soul mate will be like?
Then it came. One scary sentence that flew through his head.
Does he know I'm a boy?
What if his family and himself are against being "defective"? What if he prefers to be without the other half?
He lay down on the bed and closed his eyes. He hid under a blanket and wrapped his arms around his waist.
Can I be alone for the rest of my life?
He still wants to get to know him and see his beautiful eyes. What does his name sound like? How would he pronounce Nick's name?
So many questions, worries and no answers.
How much longer will I have to wait?
