* You can verify the mentioned information on Acute Radiation Syndrome and Gray unit e.g. at the CDC website. Not the nicest stuff to read about, though, so warning on that.
* I know that the Gray unit isn't the best for describing this sort of environmental radiation here (Sievert unit would be better, but it's for low dosage, and it's really not the case here), but 1) I think this one is easier to explain as a first to people who don't know much about the subject and 2) Akira's MP is more adjusted to consider direct effects on humans, hence rather providing information in the closest suitable format. I mean, I could've made up a completely fictional unit or something, but I think this is cool. Sievert unit will be mentioned later at some point, too, by the way.

In a world warped by deadly radiation from centuries prior, some dare to make a living by searching for relics and trash of the past. Two Grandmas hire a young, reluctant aid to their business, and find themselves on the way to discovering the mystery behind the fall of the grandest industrial centre of the era.
In other words: queer rep galore, badass grandmas, murder, mystery, mechanical worms; all painted in ink by yours truly.
