Darius POV
I instantly went to go after her, Mike stopped me by holding me back telling me to let her blow off some steam. Huffing out my frustration I didn’t know how I could fix this gap that I’ve created now making it harder to get closer to her, how have I stuffed up so badly and so many times over. Also how do I take in all of the information she has thrown in my face.
What does she mean when she asked, if I know what its like to be alone, almost sounding like she meant she’s been alone most of her life. Retreating to the lounge I collapsed onto one of the couches gently massaging my temples. Looking over to Mike, watching him look out the window probably thinking about something.
I decided against asking him anything for now and leave to see what Camilla’s room, to see what she’s been hiding and left behind. Walking into the room I’m surprised at how moderately clean it was other that a few clothes that were strewn about the place. I noticed a black duffle bag, piquing my interest I pulled it out from under the bed. The weight of lots of different objects puts me off and the occasional clinking from metal emitting from the bag.
Unzipping it I am surprised to see all of the different blades and weapons in the bag, why would she need all of these weapons and here of all places. I know that she’s planning on killing the four supernatural’s but why does she need this many. Carefully pulling all the items out of the bag I took note of what there was and how many. One bow with an arrange of arrows in a bag, 47 different blades and two swords. As well as some gear and clothing inside which would fit tightly around her slim form and would protect her from some sharp weapons. What kind of person is my mate.
I know that she is a street fighter but surely, she wouldn’t need all of these weapons for that. What am I not getting, I know that there is still some stuff I don’t know about her, but there can’t be that much, can there? Calming my raising anger towards Mike for not telling me more about her that would be beneficial towards all of this. Finding Mike still looking out the window, I grab him forcefully by his wrist and drag him into the room and point to all the weapons I’ve splayed out.
“What does she need all of these for its not like she needs them all for street fighting its like she’s doing more than fighting,” I say needing answers.
“She does more street fighting and killing the offhand supernatural, I think It would be better if Camilla told you, everything that she is willing to tell you at the moment because somethings in her past she would rather forget than talk about it,” He says looking at the ground, he starts packing the bag back up only leaving the bow, some arrows and a couple of knives out.
“What are you doing” looking at him questionably wondering why he was organising it out.
“I am sorting out what she will need to assassinate the four supernatural targets,” He states while placing everything neatly out on the floor and the clothes on the bed. Walking out I go back to the lounge and put the TV on deciding to wait till Camilla come backs than go find her, wherever she may have gone.
Time Skip
It was getting dark out and Camilla hasn’t returned. Ignoring Mikes comment to wait for her to get back, I leave the room and walk out of the hotel. A light is on from a small building next to the hotel. Guessing that its part of the hotel as it is next to a pool. Loud music can be herd playing from the building and only one person is in the fairly large pool. Walking through the gates I walked closer to the person to find that its Camilla, has she been here the whole time. If so, what could she have been doing the entire time its not like she would have been in the pool for most of the day.
Deciding to leave her for now I walk into the building which reminds me of a beach house, inside there were different rooms, there was a small arcade room, kitchen area, small gym that looks like five people could be in there, and a sitting area that has a tv. Investigating the gym, I see that a bag has been dumped on the bench as well as some clothes laying on the bench.
Already knowing who they belonged to, I left the building and went into the pool area and observed Camilla as she swam from one end to the other. Luckily earlier today I put a pair of swimming shorts on. Stripping of my clothes I proceeded to walk into the pool. The water was nice and warm making me feel relaxed. Swimming to the other side where Camilla is, I stayed on the other side of the pool from her, so she didn’t get annoyed with me.
“I was hoping you were a stranger” She commented as she turned around to look at me, her white hair flowing around her in the clear water. I could clearly see her lean but muscular body as I looked at her taking in the way her muscles show and how her body curves in the right places. Her six-pack showing of how much she has trained. Her golden-brown tanned skin showing all the time she spent in the sun rather indoors, and her tanned sin easily showed off all her white scars that roamed her body. It surprised me how many scars she had because it means that she was attacked with silver or wolfsbane weapons.
“Didn’t expect you to be here,” truth be told I thought she would’ve been long gone or come back and packed her bags and left.
“Couldn’t leave Mike, plus I have a fight to win,” She states as if she doesn’t care about me and would rather me leave her alone again, which hurt a little.
“And what about me, do you expect me to I don’t know go back to my pack and leave you or stay here,” I explain not knowing what I can do, I don’t want to go back to my pack is it means never seeing her again.
“Augh, why are you so difficult, fine I guess ill go to your pack and stay with you than win my fight in the arena, but that all comes after killing my targets,” She watches me for my reaction with her penetrating grey eyes.
“Alright at least my pack will know that I didn’t leave them for no reason and will finally know that they have a Luna” I start thinking about my pack and how they may react when I finally return and show them that I have a mate that will be strong and can help lead them.
“I will not be their Luna because that means I am still lower than you, I will be your equal and nothing less.” She says with a stern voice proving that she wont back down until her last breath.
I nodded in understanding and floated over to her she moved away from me and putting more space between up. As I got closer to her, I could see some of the smaller scars on her face one went the side of her cheek. I moved my hand out of the water and up to her cheek to trace the scar, but before my hand could reach her face her hand grabbed my wrist stopping me from touching her. I looked at her confused, but she let go and I pulled my hand back to me. She moved further away and rested her head on her arms on the side of the pool.
Letting out a sigh I decided to do something about his distance that could probably kill me. I needed to close the distance so she would stop running away. I moved closer to her and wrapped my arms around her shoulders and leaned by body against hers. She tensed up immediately and didn’t relax as I rested my chin on her shoulder. She turned to me with a piercing glare that could turn someone into ashes. I could feel her eyes burning holes into mine. Ignoring her I tightened my grip around her not wanting her to ruin the moment.
She gave up seconds later knowing that I wasn’t giving up my embrace. Laying her head back down on her arms she looked out into the distance not looking at anything in particular. As she zoned out, I moved back from her and looked at her back taking in all the white scars o her body, some larger than others and a few dragged across her entire back. I pushed further away and started to trace the ragged scars with my right hand.
She flinched away and turned around quickly switching positions with my back the ground and the side of the pool digging into my lower back as she pinned me to the ground with her arm to my neck. I lifted my hands in surrender watching as she slowly moved away. She didn’t look at me and started to lift herself out of the pool, not wanting this time to end yet I grabbed her wrist and stopped her. She sat down next to me and looked at me waiting for an explanation.
“Just thought we could talk for a while.”
