We ended back in the hotel room watching a documentary about werewolves but surprisingly some of the information the humans had gathered throughout the years was right, but most were wrong they had no idea how many of us there truly are and where we all are. At some point Camilla had passed out on the couch and occasionally twitching.
I softly chuckled at her as she turned onto her back letting me observe her face, her features had softened, and she looked peaceful. It seemed like she wouldn’t have so many walls built up all around her. I looked at the time seeing that It was late, I slowly lifted Camilla off of the couch and into my arms, she slumped into my chest gripping my shirt to make sure she wouldn’t fall.
Softly putting her into bed and pulling the blankets over her and went to leave when she started to let out small whimpers. Confused I stepped closer to her realising that she was still dreaming. What to do, what do I do. Should I try and wake her or to try and comfort her in her sleep. I turned around to go and wake Mike up but a hand gripping the back of my shirt stopped me from walking out.
She mumbled a small ‘stay’ her eyes half lidded and falling fast and back into sleep. Should I stay and risk being killed in my sleep or leave and keep my mouth shut about it and hope she doesn’t remember or know that she asked me to stay. Risk it for the biscuit. I’ll stay for now but keep my distance by sitting in the chair in the corner and hopefully that’ll be enough to keep her at peace.
The rest of the night was filled with constant moving around in the chair trying to find a comfortable position and sleeping for an hour at most. When I woke up again it was late morning, and I had a grey throw blanket on me and a small pillow under my head. Looking around the room for Camilla I noticed that the bed was a mess of blankets and she was missing. At the moment I felt comfortable and didn’t want to get up and felt like sleep could take me. And that’s what happened.
Groaning awake I stiffly sat up looking around the room to see if Camilla had come back in and she definitely had because it looked a little tidier. Looking at the small coffee table next to me I see that someone left a cup of hot coffee on it and a piece of toast. Quickly eating the toast and gulping down the drink not realising how hungry I am.
Walking out of the room I looked around for Mike and Camilla to see what they were doing. I found Mike sitting at the table with a laptop out and a small microphone attached to it. I walked behind him and saw that there are multiple camera feeds playing. One looked like it was on someone who was walking down a street following two people.
Flicking to another feed Mike typed in a command and the camera zoomed in to follow the person. They used finger signals to send a message back without anyone else knowing what they were doing. When the feed changed to a different perspective, I realised that the person was Camilla. She’s wearing casual clothes that fit loosely around her, sunglasses, and a mid-length blond wig. A growl slipped past my lips catching Mikes attention.
He quickly explained himself and what was going on. I nodded and sat down next to him watching as they worked. Camilla followed the two ‘targets’ until they went down an alley way. She kept walking then slipped into one herself. She took off running down the sidewalk until she reached a wall and climbed up it onto the roof.
I watched in amazement as she moved across the roofs and down drainpipes. She suddenly stops on the edge of a building and crouches down. We watch as the two from before walk into a building that doesn’t seem like it was a normal building like the rest in the ally. She quickly scales down the building and into one of the open windows.
The rest of the ‘targets’ are in the building; it looks like there are plastic bags hanging from the ceiling with tubes trailing out of them into machines. Mike askes if she can move closer to see what they are doing, she instantly signs something that I can’t understand. Mike replies with hacking into the cameras and making sure she can’t be seen as well as making her invisible to the recordings.
She sneaks forward and we receive a perfect view of all the bodies hanging in the bags some look like they had been experimented on with magic before being put in there. Whereas others are being drained for blood. She moves past the room and into another that looks to be a conference room.
All the ‘targets’ are there with some humans talking about something. She moves closer as close as she can, but we still can’t here what they are talking about. She searches in her pockets for something and pulls out a small circular black disk. She throws it across the room, and it attaches to the wall before it slides down onto the floor where it moves under the desk finally giving us audio feed.
They were talking about releasing a small magic explosion near the building to attract people into the building and showing them the benefits of being a supernatural but none of the disadvantages. They hope that people will join them, and they will be able to create an army to try and take down one of the smaller wolf packs.
Mike tells Camilla to get out of there before one of them notices and for her to come back here. She signs back and quickly moves through the building back out onto the roof. Running from rooftop to rooftop, she gets back close to the hotel and walks out of the alley casually walking past people to get back. When she gets back into the room Mike turns off the camera and she take off the sunglasses, jumper and wig discarding them around the room.
She slumps down onto the couch looking over the top at us. Mike explains the intel she gathered will be good to give back to the boss whoever that is. He says that she can rest and have the rest of the day to do whatever she wants.
She proceeds to lay on the couch and watch tv. I walk over to her and thank her for leaving me breakfast, but she just waves me off saying that it was nothing. Mike left a short while later saying he needed to meet up with someone probably their boss or his mate. we let him leave without question and watched tv.
I got bored pretty quickly and felt like I could fall asleep if I didn’t do anything stimulating. Getting up I walk into the kitchen and make a coffee hoping that it will keep me awake for a few more hours or at least until the sun starts setting. Walking back to the couch I see that Camilla found a book to read and was currently invested in the book. She moved her legs so I could sit down on the couch as well, as soon as I sat down, she put her legs on mine and kept reading.
I shrugged it off and let her do whatever for now. I change the channel a few times finding nothing interesting on at the current moment, so I went and looked for some movies and found one that looked interesting. After the movie finished, I stood back up and found my phone. I looked at all the messages I had gotten and listened to all the voice messages that my beta left as well as some others in the pack and of course my parents wondering where I was.
Calling them back telling them that I’ll be back soon and not to worry about me, but they were still reluctant of not knowing where I was and what I was doing. Probably thinking that I was doing something bad like going after a she-wolf. Well, I guess I was going after a she-wolf but in this case, she was mine and didn’t belong to anyone else.
Also doing some work by email I managed to get on top of some things that I have missed while I’ve been away. It’ll be a little hectic when I get back, but it will be manageable and hopefully I will be able to go with Camilla and Mike to the arena to make sure that she stays safe from anyone that might want something from her.
People can be a pain to deal with especially if there trying to mess around with your pack and at the moment mine has been under constant threat from rogues and others trying to get in. Its frustrating how many have tried but it’s a good thing that I have one of the strongest packs in the country.
Letting out a sigh I lean back in my chair and massage my forehead trying to find solutions to some of my problems. I hear shuffling from across the room and then hands on my shoulders I moved my hands away from my face and looked up at Camilla. I got told to sit up and I did as tell wanting to see where this was going. She started moving her hands over my shoulders and back occasionally poking areas, I was about to ask her what she was doing when she moved her hands back up and pressed her thumbs in my shoulders where a knot was.
Wincing I tried to pull away from her, but she just pulled me back against the char telling me not to be a princess about it. Camilla kept on massaging areas where the knots where mainly worse than others and slowly worked them out. It was nice and I was feeling less tight and stressed as it kept going, it was getting more calming until she moved her hands back up to my neck and did the first step again. I knew what was going to happen and I was not wanting to feel more pain in my neck than there already was.
I pulled away from her and said that she didn’t need to keep going so she shrugged it off and walked into the kitchen and started making dinner. I was slightly surprised that Mike had not returned yet, but he never did mention when he would be back so for all I know he might not be back until tomorrow.
When dinner was finally ready, we ate in silence finally not minding each other’s presence anymore. Once we finished, we cleaned up the dishes and put the extra in the fridge for Mike or if one of us wants more or got hungry. Camilla went on her phone and played games occasionally throwing her phone on the couch in frustration but hen quickly picking up again and continued trying to beat the level. I would sometimes help but other than watching her I would text my beta about if there’s been anything I need to know about right away and there mostly wasn’t.
