It was coming eventually. It was only so long before he had to go back to work. At first they didn't believe him. At least until they saw him in person, as that was a bit harder to argue with. What fallowed was several days of waiting on HR to figure out how the heck to handle this unprecedented situation, and whether it was safe for him to return to the building. At least it had given him a few days to try and find new work clothing, as well as some gloves to stop it from spreading. For now, some standard gardening gloves would have to do, but he did home he could find something more comfortable in the future, even if they had to be specially made. He'd have to get some sort of new safety boots made as well... or figure something out.
Going digital wasn't an option, unfortunately. He was a floor manager in a warehouse, that's not the kind of thing that can be done remotely. So with much hesitation, when they gave him the call that he had been cleared to return, he found himself at the warehouse that same afternoon. As much as he had tried to mentally prepare himself for what was ahead though, and all the questions he might get asked, he had no idea what to really expect. How many of his normal duties would he still be able to perform? How would his employees respond to him now? Or even his own supervisor?
