„I do not know. “ Whispered Augustin with an anxious smile on his face.
“They also don’t know that I found out.” Edgar took the younger one into his arm, burying him in his warmth. Hoping he could take away all the sorrow in Augustin’s bones. But reality is where they live and nobody, but Augustin could fight against the King.
Pushing the blond, a bit away, cupping his face between his strong hands. Seeing the upcoming tears and fear in Augustin almost gave Edgar a heart attack. No one should every touch his Darling and if someone dares too, they should prepare their neck for the guillotine.
“What if they find out?” Edgar dared to question, but Augustin lost his battle with the tears and sunk into Edgar arms. Crying out over every pain he felt in the last months without his love.
“I-I don’t know Edgar, what if they kill me?” Augustin looked up; eyes as red as a rose. Edgar shook his head. They wouldn’t touch an heir.
“Don’t think too much about it. Ok?” Edgar let his finger glide over the succinct cheekbones of the Princes. Augustin nodded on approval, thinking it would be the best to just let future run its evil plan. Hoping that the two would be together. Helping each other out in times like these.
The next thing that happened was a more than mad looking King standing in the big wooden door of Augustin’s chambers. The two men hustled apart, both in shock. They didn’t know how long the King stood at the door eavesdropping them. But they knew for sure that if he heard what they were talking about, Edgar’s head was off his body faster than he could pray to the Goods. Like every traitor before him.
The King came closer, inspecting the sin his son was committing. Shaking his head without any words. Augustin knew that face, the face of disappointment. Parental disappointment was the worst for the prince, but for him, Edgar was worth all of this.
“That you’re still fucking this piece of scum is unbelievable son!” The King screamed out his words, making Augustin jump. The prince heartrate was racing faster than any horse in Nefarious could, but Edgar on the other hand got his straight face on. Facing consequences was learned early on in Ethereal and seen as something that made you strong. Also, the little joy of knowing that he was the one taking Augustin, made this whole scene quite more endurable for the young Earl.
The blackish boots of the King made the wood underneath howl out, bending it’s back to withstand the heavy man. Shaking his head again and mimicking his son to get up. Augustin did as told, not wanting to enrage the King even further.
Now standing face to face, Augustin notice the red dots face on his Fathers face. Being concern about the old man was an understatement but becoming King now would break him eternally.
“The oaks are burning.” Were the words that left King Konstantin mouth. In mere seconds Augustin world turned. And he scrawled out the following words.
“We are at War.”
