One piece of luck out of all this was that, being in the shipping industry, he was unable to take vacation around the holidays. Normally that was more of a hassle than anything, but at the moment, it meant that he could put off trying to figure out how to break the news to for a few months. They lived several states away, so he only got to visit them a few times per year, when he'd take a week off and fly to their state for the duration... But this time... the thought of addressing it sent shivers down his spine. He couldn't even talk to them over the phone, they'd never believe that it was him with how different his voice currently was. But he was sure that it didn't raise any red flags anyway, he'd always been bad about scheduling time off to visit, or would run into trouble. This would be no different to them, he assumed.
