It's a Free Wedding!? How freakin kind! Also, I'm gonna try Friday updates for a while!
Fun fact about the wedding preparations (the patch which I took artistic liberty to not color) if you squint, we got some crossover monster characters from the Tapas Forums--there's monsters from the comics Dragon Sparking, Oddly Vanilla, and Keith and Jeremy's Mystical Mysteries--thanks for donating your character for a quick spell! Make sure to check out their comics if you want to see more monsters!
Also, by now you've maybe caught on to the language they keep thinking Meredith knows, which is there to be our indicator of how long it's been since any human has stumbled into Chiaroscuro and also the vague locations of where the gate could take place ((it would have been so distant in history it would actually line up closer to the Great Lakes than the Plains))). After this page, they will pretty much give up on trying to use that language on Meredith because, as Mamma Orso pointed out, she doesn't know it. (and I have my own individual reasons I wrote it this way, but that's for later. We're in the comedy arc of TSW)
Coop knows about as much as Meredith, and so he did ask Gill how to say "hello" before they arrived. (Gill, who does know about human history because he did go to college, knew that it was pointless to try, but was willing to entertain Coop's rare academic curiosity.) But, they do have borrowed words from human influence, Coop didn't have to ask Gill how to say "younger male cousin from his mother's brother."
Meredith will learn a little more about the history and lore of Chiaroscuro and basically what the hell is going on with the many languages and the exposure that these monsters have had to humans over time (and whether monsters truly understand humans at all), but until then...we gotta have this wedding drama first.
