The Simul Chronicles: Black Rain

1. Two worlds colliding

1. Two worlds colliding

Jul 15, 2021

Akana, the Curioni.

Akana had thought exile to earth would be the end of her. She thought her life was over, just because Scii personally disliked her. Well, she personally disliked Scii, and had decided to thrive on this pathetic planet, just to spite him.

Before she had decided that however, she had moped for a good while in a cage, locked up as soon as she arrived on earth, tired and hurt. A traveling circus had found her in the woods, her Curioni form on full display, and had thought her a combination of a tiger and a human. How far off they were. She never bothered to correct them, sitting in her cage with apathetic indifference, waiting for her wounds to heal and her power to return. When she finally got herself out she found herself in the ruins of an old city, a ghost of its former glory. She was lured here by whispers of a power beyond her own, the progenitor of a race known for their battle prowess and magical power, cursed for their hubris; the black elves. No matter how hard she looked, she could not find him, and left Ateïmber, the city of black rain, behind.

She roamed the earth for a small year, making more enemies than allies, until a voice inside of her told her that she found a fragment of the Simul, whatever that may be. Akana decided to keep a close eye on the fragment, a girl called Ella, and waited until the child was old enough to do her bidding.

Ella, the Human.

Ella was young still when her mother died, her only protection against her abusive father, and decided in a moment of sheer desperation to push the man off the stairs. There lay his mangled body, underneath the stairway, blood gushing from a wound in his head. He was dead upon impact.

She was never blamed, the death thought to be an accident, though she blamed herself for the grief she caused her brother. He did not have to live under her father harsh scrutiny, not next in line for the Owen Company, only knowing the best side of the now deceased man. Both of them now orphans, they were taken in by one of their fathers close business partner; James Wright.

It was at the funeral of the head of the Owen Company where Akana finds Ella, trying to hide a wide grin at the thought of being free. It is years later where the story begins in earnest.

Ella and her group have a simple mission: capture Dan Black, and take possession of the necklace he owns. When they make enemies too strong for them to face, things start to fall apart for the group. Especially when Ella is not at all who she seems...

(rewrite of the comic Black Rain that I made and abandoned because of plot holes)
