'hopefully he didn't stray off and get in trouble again' is all she thought as she climbed out of the hut.

Penny's worries luckily had been cut short when she saw a pair of pink wings a couple of meters away from their little wooden hut.

It seems he doesn't waste any time.

Penny slowly walked towards the avian checking her surroundings for any kind of danger. ,,Hey, do you need help with anything?".

The man in front of her didn't take his eyes off his work as he continued cutting down a tree.

,,If you'd be so kind and bring back the wood I've gathered that would be great."

Without further ado the human grabbed said logs and slowly made her way back.

The two of them remained working in silence for a while until finally the other two woke up.

,,Good mornings sleepy heads! You slept quite a bit today."

Penny laughed as she put down the contents she currently carried.

,,It's merely 8am Penny" Gray said as he looked at his communicator.

,,If we weren't in a life or death situation I'd gladly sleep 4 more hours."

Gigi groaned leaning against Gray to see the time.

,,Well sadly we are so we should get some stuff done so we don't have to worry as much."

Floris slowly came up to them carrying even more logs.

Gigi and Gray took a second to look at all the wood they had now collected before speaking up again.

,,We should give everyone a task then, no?" The giraffe crossed their arms and smiled at their friends.

The others nodded and then each claimed a task for themselves.

Floris chose to get some stones and try to make some tools and weapons.

They would need to protection outside of their humble abode afterall.

Gigi took it upon herself to start planting some of their food as they for obvious reasons didn't want to starve.

The remaining two made it their goal to build a storage for what they've gathered. Leaving everything lying outside wouldn't be the best as food would rot, firewood could get wet and who knows what they could accidentally attract by leaving stuff outside.

,,This seems like a good spot"

Gray looked over the field and layed out some markings for their build.

Meanwhile Penny started making some chests and different kinds of structures to sort their resources in.

,, Should we build another hut for this?"

Penny was thinking hard about their options as she asked the hybrid working with her.

,,Let's just build half a hut."

Gray started to slowly build a foundation following his ideas.

,,What do you mean half a hut?"

The human was visibly confused and made sure to let the other know that.

,, Considering that we'll store most things in our houses later. We mainly need a roof and protection from just anything being able to enter."

Gray was giving quite reasonable points to support his decision.

,,We're also saving resources then!" Penny cheered as she attached different parts to each other creating a chest.

,,Saving resources sounds pretty good."

Gigi who was working only a few meters away from the other two chimed in.

Once again she was wearing a red heart mask that who knows where she got that from. It also seemed as though she only wore it when streaming as she was doing right that moment.

It was already Wednesday they needed to meet their streaming goal. Perhaps they should hurry up with it.

,,Gray wanna pull out our equipment too? It's better we listen to the god for now."

The human girl fidgeted around before she took out her communicator.

,,We probably should, huh?"

Gray followed Penny's actions and they started streaming within seconds.

The three of them did their best streaming and working at once.

The storage space was coming along nicely even though they had to use makeshift tools and equipment.

Hopefully Floris was successful in making tools so their work would get easier with the days.

Using random stones they found on the ground was starting to get really tedious.

Penny sighed as she took a break looking at her scratched up hands.

,,I really should be more careful with cutting and forming things."

The human stood up to walk over to the pond nearby so she could wash off her hands from any dirt.

,,We can change places if you want to." Gray offered as he took a step back to admire his progress.

,,Thanks but I don't think it would make a big difference." Penny said as she cleaned her wounded hands.

,,Want me to treat your wounds later?" The masked mouse walked towards the field she previously worked on.

She had disappeared to work on something with fire as far as Penny was aware. It might have been more though as Gigi suddenly put down some sort of wooden scarecrow.

,,How would we treat my wounds without any medicine?" Penny tilted her head as she inspected Gigi's work.

A bit wonky but it was surprisingly sturdy.

Just as she was about to ask the hybrid started explaining.

,,We're in nature so we can find a bunch of things we just need some knowledge."

Gigi then proceeded to tap on her creation.

,,In this case I asked Floris to gather some sap from those Pine trees we saw around. It has many uses."

With that Gigi taps on a substance between the different scarecrow parts. If Penny understood correctly Gigi had just got them some valuable stuff or as the mouse called it ,,sap".

,,Wait so you just watched me carefully form wood pieces together like a puzzle when you had glue on you?"

Penny leaned her hands on her hips raising an eyebrow at Gigi.

,,Sort of? However it's not the easiest to collect and preparing it also takes time."

They both then chose to walk over to gray.

,,Well then...do you have everything for the field?" Penny inquired as she started putting yet another chest together.

,,For now I sure do. So I'll help you two until the sun goes down."

Gigi smiled at Gray as she said that and helped them finish the walls.

Each of them were working hard on their tasks until it was time to wrap it up.

They were left off with the finished walls and four chests. One of the chest quickly was made use off as a food storage.

As the three of them lit the campfire and got comfortable next to it Floris came back.

,,Welcome back." Gray was the first one to greet him.

,,How did your work go?"

Gigi now with a bare face as they had stopped streaming spoke up.

No one really saw what exactly Floris was doing as he was running around gathering supplies then disappearing somewhere with said supplies.

They just hoped he actually managed to craft something decent.

,,It went quite well I made another three axes and pickaxes so we don't have to change between each other."

He pulled one of each said tools out to show his work. Needless to say the others were impressed and relieved.

,,Did you also use Sap to put those things together?" Penny asked as she inspected the tool handed to her.

,,A combination of that and piecing things together. I wanted to make sure they actually hold up while being used."

The Flamingo handed the group their tools as he spoke.

So far everyone has been unsure of their building and crafting abilities Penny noticed.

,,I can try and teach you some things. I love that kind of stuff."

Penny offered looking around to which the others eagerly nodded.

,, Please that would be very kind of you." Gray gently took her now bandaged hand and looked her in the eyes.

At least Penny thinks the giraffe did as their eyes were covered by his hair.

,,I think in this case we don't really have a lot of choice."

Penny chuckled but it quickly stopped as she saw something move from the corner of her eye.

The others seem to have noticed too as Gigi grabbed her axe ready to attack as the others stared terrified of their sight.

A deer has chosen to cross their path but it wasn't just any deer as it's whole side has been exposed showing it's ribs.

If that didn't already give away that it was dead then the horrid smell that made the four clench their noses and the foggy eyes sure did.

Luckily this one didn't seem to be any danger as it walked further away from them. Yet the fact that a Zombiefied animal exists must mean there could be other zombified creatures.

In fact there probably were a lot more gruesome creatures lurking around especially in the dark.

,,We probably should head to bed now."

Gray dully said and no objections were made.
