Yukion scoured Luka's phone, looking for any and all useful pieces of information. Having a small child next to him, pointing out all the games and animals wasn't very helpful.
"Dog!" The little girl shouted pointing at a picture of a cat. Yukion just smiled at the girl. He didn't want to be rude by correcting her and lose his one chance at gaining a ton of information.
Yukion chewed slowly on the ham and cheese sandwich. He continued to scroll through the photos. He felt slightly uncomfortable going through the man's messages without his permission. Yukion almost laughed at himself. He had had no problem going through the rest of the man's phone, yet the messages felt too personal to go through without permission.
Yukion's page of notes started to become fuller. He had written down whatever facts he could find about the man. Yukion closed his laptop and slid the phone to his right. He avoided making eye contact with the man seated next to him and chose instead to stare at the fridge. Luka seemed to understand that this meant Yukion wasn't up for a conversation.
Yukion was laying down on the floor in a corner of the living room. He faced out towards the rest of the room. Luka had put the child down for a nap. This left Yukion to sift through all the information he had obtained. His laptop sat open before him. The cursor blinking at the end of the page. Yukion had managed to type out a full page of information on the guy. He was tired. Yukion shut the laptop and sighed. He'd had 7 hours of sleep over the past week and energy levels were running low. Luckily his low energy hadn't majorly affected his work. He had gotten some worried looks from his co-workers but he'd managed to smile away their worries. Yukion closed his eyes.
"Wake up, Puppy!" A squeaky voice shouted as a hand came down on Yukion's head. Yukion groaned as the tiny hand kept roughly patting his head. Yukion then made the mistake of turning over. Yukion squinted as the bright light shone harshly. That was a big mistake
"Mika!" Another voice called out as patting continued, now directly on Yukion's face. Yukion quickly shoved his arm over his eyes to protect him from the bright light and rough pats.
"I-I'm sorry!" Luka's voice cracked. "W-will you b-be staying for d-dinner!"
Yukion could hear the anxiousness leak out of the poor man's voice. Yukion tried to say no and leave but his body wouldn't move. He just lay there peeking out from under his arm at Luka. Yukion sighed and sat up, a blanket fell from his chest. Luka must have put it over him while he was asleep. Yukion removed the pink princess blanket from the rest of his body and searched for his laptop and phone.
"Ah, I moved y-your laptop and phone o-onto the counter."
Yukion just nodded in response. He had just woken up from the best sleep he had had all week. Yukion slowly stood up and stumbled towards the counter. Luka was now too focused on his daughter to worry about Yukion. Yukion checked the time. 6.54. Yukion had slept for nearly 6 hours.
"I-I left some food out." Yukion turned around to face Luka. "Y-you were sleeping so peacefully. I-I didn't w-want to disturb y-you." Yukion nodded.
"Thanks." Yukion turned back round to face the counter, searching for the supposed food Luka had left out. There next to his laptop was a plate with a few slices of homemade pizza and salad on it. Yukion's mouth watered. It looked delicious.
"You made this?" Yukion asked Luka, not looking away from the plate.
"Y-yeah, sorry if it tastes bad. I'm not much of a chef." Yukion sat down and began eating. It tasted as amazing as it looked.
"How'd it go?" Pebble asked. Yukion had texted him after eating , requesting a pick up.
"Good." Yukion mumbled, eyes closed. The rain had stopped and Yukion would have walked home. The only problem was that he had no idea where Luka lived or the direction his home was in. It helped that the metal death machine was a faster mode of transport. Although the thought of Pebbles constant questioning almost drove him to wandering through the streets in hopes of finding home.
Luckily, Pebble made no other attempts to start conversation and simply settled for silence. Yukion smiled at the peacefulness and made no attempt to start up a conversation either. Instead he opted to fill the silence with music and put his headphones on.
Yukion carefully placed his laptop down on his desk before falling face first onto his bed. His phone fell from his hand during the fall and landed softly on his pillow. Yukion groaned. He had fallen asleep once again during the semi-long car ride home. He had never slept so much since he was a child. Yukion reopened his eyes as his phone flashed on. Assuming it was probably a message from Pebble, he closed his eyes again and fell back into the dark void of sleep.
"Yukion! Wake up!" Yukion awoke to the sing-song tone of Daigo. Yukion sat up slowly and turned to the source of his annoyance. Glaring at Daigo as he watched him spin in his desk chair, singing the same three words over and over again, as if it were some magical chant. Yukion picked up his pillow and threw it at the spinning irritation. Yukion grinned evilly at his friends yelp. Daigo began whining at the surprise attack. Yukion checked his phone hoping that the text from Pebble would lead to an invitation to change Daigo's current mood. Except there was no text from Pebble. The notification was for a random number text, which simply read;
' Hey Yukion! It's me Ray. Daigo gave me your number. Was wondering if you wanted to join me for an event this Tuesday? Let me know if you're available and I'll message you the location. :)'
