Luka had stayed inside, watching from a gap in the curtain as Peter picked you Yukion up. He had put Mika to bed just before Peter's arrival. He didn't want to be seen fraternizing with Peter and risk getting him into serious trouble. Instead he had made himself busy by reading multiple stories to Mika, continuing even after she had fallen asleep. Luka watched as the car pulled out onto the road and sped off. He closed the curtain completely and stood up. Luka stretched before he made his way back into his room. Sleeping would at least give him a break from worrying about Peter. Even if it meant he would suffer the wrath of Blaine. In hopes that it would repel Blaine's haunting, Luka left his desk light on.
Luka awoke 5 hours later to a few knees to the side. He groaned and began moving away from the knees. He didn’t quite feel like getting up just yet.
"Daddy?" Came a soft voice and a gentle poke to his nose. Luka opened his eyes and the only thing he could see was Mika's face. Luka closed his eyes again and stretched. He then quickly grabbed a hold of his daughter and rolled over. She began giggling as Luka snuggled closer. He needed to keep her safe.
After dropping Mika off at daycare Luka drove immediately home as per Georgie's instructions. He didn't know what the punishment for disobeying Georgie's orders were, but he had no intention of finding out. For now he would be obedient and wait for Yukion to organise a plan. Luka gently threw his keys onto the benchtop before heading back to his room. Surely if he did nothing then the people Georgie had assigned to watch him would get bored and move on. He knew he was probably hoping for too much but it was all he could do at the moment. Luka shoved those thoughts away and focused on tidying his room. It wasn't that messy but it gave him something productive to do.
Luka had just finished cleaning his room when he received a call from an unknown number. He hesitated but answered in case it was Georgie. It wasn't.
"Uh, h-hello?" came a quiet unsure voice.
"H-hi, this is Luka Day speaking, How may i help you?" Luka said, instantly switching to his customer service voice, not recognising the voice from the caller.
"Um, uh, this is Yukion. Uh. I just w-wanted to ask a few um questions. If that's alright?"
Luka was confused by the boy's unsure and nervous tone. Every time he had come face to face with the boy he had appeared confident and assertive. Now he sounded like a scared child.
"I c-can call back later if n-now is inconvenient." Yukion's voice broke Luka away from his thoughts.
"Ah n-no, now is ok. Uh what q-questions did you have?" Luka cursed himself for his nervousness. Yukion was nervous about this call and he was only making it worse by also being nervous.
"oh, uh. Whose Georgie? And what relationship do you have with them and why?"
It seems Luka's nervousness had put Yukion to ease and in a place of power again. Luka hesitated for a bit and glanced out the window, hoping that the thugs Georgie had assigned couldn't hear his conversation. Luka began moving about his house to appear busy as he continued speaking to Yukion.
"Uh I'm not too sure who they are exactly, but they found me after, you know, the uh incident. With. Blaine."
Luka gulped, trying not to think back on those memories too much but still wanting to provide as much details for Yukion as possible.
"They uh got Mika from her day care and took her to this place. I'm not sure where it is sorry but I do remember there being a big cathedral with quite a large graveyard out front."
Luka continued recounting the events that led him to the situation he was in now. The only sounds coming from the other side of the phone was keyboard clicks and the occasional grunt.
After telling his story, Luka waited for Yukion's response.
"Thank you. I'll review this and get back to you." With that Yukion hung up. Luka listened as the call ended and sighed in relief. It had felt good to get that off his chest and tell someone of the whole situation. Luka put his phone down on the coach he had migrated to and closed his eyes. He'd need to pick Mika up soon but for now he could rest and relax. It had been a while since Luka had relaxed like this. Before it had been work, Blaine's hauntings or Georgie that had kept him on edge and stressed. Now he felt at peace and calm. Luka took full advantage of the moment and did nothing to break away from the couch or the oncoming sleep.
Luka awoke only a few minutes later to a blaring alarm going off, signally it was time to pick Mika up and ending his relaxing moment of peace and quiet.
Mika was singing along happily to the theme song of whatever tv show was being played while Luka started making dinner. Luka smiled, this moment may not have been as quiet as the one before picking Mika up but it was still relaxing and peaceful.
Luka's peaceful moment was once again interrupted by his phone. This time it was another call from Yukion. After the previous call Luka had saved the contact under Peter's weird friend.
"Hello, Luka speaking. How may I help you." Luka answered in his usual manner.
"Uh, Hello." There was a gap of silence as Luka waited for Yukion.
"I have work tomorrow but I was wondering if we could um, uh meet up to uh discuss the next steps?"
"uh, yeah. That sounds good." Luka responded surprised at the sudden speed Yukion was taking on the situation.
"okay, cool. I'll send you the address." With that Yukion ended the call again. Luka smiled, then realised. Mika didn't have daycare tomorrow. He’ll have to bring her with him.
