Yukion was on his way to meet Ray; who had invited him out to a party. Yukion had reluctantly agreed. He got into the elevator with a few people. Everything seemed to be going well. Yukion checked the time on his phone. 6.27. He was going to be early. Hopefully that would give him enough time to find Ray and convince him that this had been a bad idea. "Fuck." Yukion mutters under his breath. He was in a rush and the elevator had decided to get stuck. Yukion leaned against the wall harder and pulled out his phone. He texted Ray, saying he might be a little late to the party. He got a smiley face and a thumbs up in response. Yukion then stayed silent as the other elevator passengers called the maintenance number. He regretted agreeing to leave the apartment this morning. Yukion stayed propped up against the wall. He had no effort at all to try to fix this problem himself. After all, 3 hours of sleep and no engineering degree, there's no way he would've been able to fix an elevator jam. Not to mention the only exit being a small grate in the top of the elevator. Yukion just didn't have the effort to do anything other than wait. He noticed the passenger next to him start to breathe rapidly. Yukion ignored the panicked passenger, hoping someone else would be paying attention. Someone here had to be of assistance, not just him. Yukion almost sighed when another passenger started to help the panicked one. It didn't take long before the elevator righted itself and continued descending to the first floor.
Yukion headed into the party. Ray had invited him. So here he was. Stuck in a crowd of loud and annoying college kids. Yukion began grumbling to himself. If only he'd refused. He could have been at home right now, catching up on the sleep he so desperately needed. But no. He was here instead. Yukion had searched the whole venue for Ray. No luck. He groaned. Yukion pulled out his phone to text him.
'Where r u?'
He moved away from the large crowd as much as he could and headed towards the front door.
'Sorry might be a little late'
'Be there in 5'
Yukion walked out the front door of the party. If he played this right he wouldn't have to go back in.
'Wanna watch movies and hang at my place instead?'
Yukion pleaded with his phone silently. hoping that Ray would get the idea that he was interested in parties.
'Sure. Do you want me to pick u up?'
Yukion almost did a celebratory dance as he quickly replied ‘yes’.
As soon as he noticed the bright red Mazda pull up he began racing towards the road, away from the dreaded party.
The ride back to Yukion's apartment was short. Yukion awkwardly looked at the shared document on his phone. He would try to ignore the metal death machine by focusing on work. He scrolled to the end of the page and reread the last sentence on the page. Who is Georgie? Sent intimidating text while investigating phone. He glanced at Ray, who was humming along to the song, Unaware of the obvious danger of the car. Yukion made a mental note to call Luka about it later. He would text but he couldn't be sure of who he was messaging based on the information he had found. Yukion put his phone back into his pocket as Ray parked the Mazda outside Yukion's apartment complex.
Yukion guided Ray to the stairs, not trusting the elevator after the event this morning.
"Elevator’s broken." He said in response to Ray's confused expression. At that moment the elevator decided to show that it was in fact working and opened up to reveal an old couple getting out. Yukion cursed the elevator and continued heading towards the stairs, with Ray following after him. He was glad that Ray didn't question the elevator hate on the way up the stairs and for that Yukion was thankful.
The rest of the night was uneventful and both boys fell asleep watching some supposed action film. It hadn't been nearly as action-filled as the trailer had promised.
Yukion woke up to hushed excitement. He slowly peeled his head off of whatever was keeping him up at the moment and opened his eyes. Standing before was both his roommates, giggling. Yukion sat up straighter wondering what they were giggling about. A soft weight shifted from atop Yukion's head down to his shoulder. Yukion, confused, looked at the weight. It was Ray's head. The other two began giggling louder now, both eyeing something on Daigo's phone. Yukion flushed and silently cursed both of them. He slowly pushed Ray's head off his shoulder to rest on the couch, hoping not to draw any more attention towards himself. Then as quickly as he could manage in his sleepy state he ran at Daigo and snatched the man's phone away.
Daigo shrieked at the sudden attack and woke Ray up with a start. Yukion quickly ran with the phone back to the couch and jumped behind, scaring Ray in the process. Yuri and Daigo had been giggling at a photo of Ray and Yukion sleeping on the couch, snuggled up close, heads resting together. Yukion cried out and threw the phone back at Daigo, hitting the man in the chest then falling to the ground, as Daigo fumbled.
Yukion had retreated to his room once Ray had left, attacking anyone who opened his door. Now, he was staring at his phone in his hands. He was about to call Luka again and was in a state of anxiousness. He hated phone calls. He couldn't see the person he was talking to and judge their thought process. It made him anxious to not know what his conversation partner was thinking about. Not that he was much interested in conversation face to face either. Before he could rethink it, Yukion dialled Luka's number to arrange a discussion on the information he'd received.
