There are 4 things to know about this place. When it gets dark outside that is when it’s safe to walk around. But when the Sun comes up, there are four things. Terrifying things, almost make you think about why people want to come here. It’s because they don’t know, they know they don’t know, and they know it could be dangerous. That’s why we go here. 

1: The land of the island is tiled. The other two didn’t notice before but the island is a perfect square. The tiles shift around during the day practically creating a new island. It’s a dangerous maze during the day, the tile you’re standing on could move somewhere far away in an instant. 

2: The Sun. It burns. It’s not hot outside, it's actually quite cold in some places. But if light from the Sun touches your skin directly, it will hurt. A lot. As long as your clothes cover your hands and head you’re fine. 

3: The others. There are other people on this big island, dangerous people. They’re usually in phase 3, without going on the fourth flight you stay in phase 3 forever. It sounds like hell. I’m guessing the plane chose them for a good laugh. But the last one is the real danger, the ones we’ll have to defend this little girl from. 

4: Shades. No one knows if they’re people, or used to be. But they’re tall and thin...too thin. So thin that they can slide between the tiles when the island is shifting and they come out after the tiles stop moving. Other than that they look like people. Their skin is red. Like there isn’t skin. Like the skin is gone. Yeah, that’s it, they’re just muscle, no skin. But they’re safe from the Sun, no one knows why. How long was I thinking about that? Felt like hours, maybe it was, phones don’t work. Oh, we’re here.

“We’re here.”
