“F*ck, Rupert!” A loud scream echoed through the icy wood. At first Alexander didn’t knew if it was coming from his dream or from somewhere outside the beautiful realm he currently walked. Therefore, he turned around and snuggled deeper into the fur blanket.
“No, no, no. No, Rupert. Don’t you dare!” The voice started getting louder again and ripped Alexander out of his sleepy state again.
Seconds later he jumped up, remembering that he was for once not alone at night. Turning his head, he found the source of the heart shattering screams and repressed begging. The little one he had found in front of the wooden cabin seemed to have a bad dream. Not sure what to do he grabbed the young boy pulled him as close as he could. When he was younger his mother always cuddled him back to sleep after a bad dream. He heard the heartbeat of the boy. It went from racing to a simple rhythm in mere seconds. Muscles starting to relax; the boy found peace in his sleep again. Calmed by the look of the sleeping boy, Alexander closed his own eyes again and vanished away into his own dream realm.
The next time Maurice woke up, he was pressed against a hard chest. Breathing was regular, what meant the person was still asleep. Perring up, his hypotheses was corrected. Two cold sapphires were staring back at him.
“What did you dream about?” Alexander demanded to know. Because the boy pressed against him, not only interrupted his sleep one but more than five times this night. Closing his hug, while the two stared each other down. The older one wasn’t mad, more concerned about the boy’s health. Maurice was starting to shake under Alexanders strong gaze.
“Why are you so nice to me? We already had our fun, I’m useless now.” Alexander shocks his head. He really needed to get some self-love into this boy. Therefore, he grabbed the small face, that his hand cover almost entirely and spoke his words as careful as he could.
“You’re not useless! No one is.” Maurice didn’t know what exactly to do with the passive aggressive respond. Should he thank him or dismiss the spoken words. Take aback, nevertheless he hoped that the raven haired would continue his sentence.
“And we could have much more fun…” The prince could her the grin running through the slightly cold air. The fire burned down hours ago, but you could still feel the present of warmth. Embarrassed by the charming words he buried his glowing red face into the chest of the raven-haired man. Alexander took his chance and stroke through the dirty blond while giggling at the adorable reaction he got out of the boy.
“I’m not sure why I like you or why I care.” Alexander said, even though he knew exactly why he liked Maurice so much. An innocent blond lad. Charming and warm. A loving soul, with even brighter eyes. Open minded. Right his type.
“I’m not sure as well. But I’m sure that I like your touch.” Maurice spoke the truth. He wasn’t sure what was pulling him closer to Alexander. But his loving touch and the warmth of his soul seemed to heal something inside of him he didn’t even knew was broken.
A silent ensued between the two. No one wanted to ruin this magical moment. They cuddle back into the fur and eventually feel asleep together. And not shortly after the snoring sound echoed through the wooden cabinet.
The sun was already high up when both woke up. Alexander got out of the fur blanket immediately he knew he would fall back asleep if he wouldn’t get up now. Gently laying the boy back into the furs, while carefully watching to not wake him. Maurice on the other hand turned around and closed his eyes again. He didn’t want to get up nor think about anything. The raven haired turned around looking at the fur ball named Maurice. He couldn’t deny that he thought that the young lad was indeed adorable.
“Maurice?” Alexander asked into the silent cold air. A little mumble came out of the fur ball. The man tried his best to not fall into laughter.
“I must get us something to eat. You didn’t eat anything since I found you, aren’t you hungry?” The question echoes through the ice land. Seconds go by before Maurice answers it. His morning voice wasn’t as deep as one might expect but it left Alexander with a feeling, he last experience in his youth.
“No.” Came the sleepy answer. While shrugging his shoulders Alexander put everything in his bag he would need for a little hunt. Maurice had to be hungry even though he didn’t state it. The boy might be too shy to eat around him. So, the man left the rabbit meat in reach for Maurice to easily grab out of the fur paradise. With his prey in mind, the older one left into the growing snowstorm outside. And Maurice went for another round of sleep. After all, Alexander didn’t go soft on him, after he riled the man up for quite a bit.
