**I'm SO SO SO sorry for the extremely late update! I've been really busy with finishing my volleyball tournament last week, and getting ready for school, which unfortunately, starts today for me **it's midnight when im writing this lmao**. I'll try to keep up with the updates though! I won't have any extracurricular activities this year so I will get to go home on a normal time. It just depends on homework, studying, etc.**
(STORY CONTINUES BELOW! ENJOY~)
Ashton walked into the surprisingly MASSIVE pantry that his aunt and uncle have in their apartment.
'Hmm..what about a sand castle cake? That'd be cool since it is summer...although school starts in two days..' he thought to himself. He took out all the needed ingredients for the cake and set them onto the slightly cool marbled countertop, 'Where do they keep the mixing bowls..?' After searching for what seemed like A FUCKING LIFETIME, Ashton finally found them in one of the drawers closest to the pantry, 'Alrighty! It's baking time! Ashton had deducted. He took out the medium-sized mixing bowl and placed it onto the counter, after washing his hands so he could make sure he wasn't going to get anybody god damn sick and make sure the area was tidy and clean, he began to make the cake batter. In the bowl he carefully measured 5 cups of flour, 5 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of sea salt, 3 sticks of softened unsalted butter, 3 cups of dark brown sugar, 6 tablespoons of vegetable oil, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, 8 large eggs, and lastly 2 1/2 cups of milk. He began to mix the batter with a wisk from the utensil holder next to the stove, "AUGH! I DIDN'T PRE-HEAT THE OVEN! FUCK!" Ashton shouted in dissatisfaction, obviously. He quickly took his hand off the wisk and turned his attention over to the oven next to him, he moved the oven racks lower and turned on convectional bake at 350°. He checked his phone for the time, 9:02 AM; 'It's been almost three hours since I woke up, and Aunt and uncle won't be home till six, sooo, time wise I'd say I'm doing great!' Ashton had proudly told himself. He went back to the mixing bowl where the wisk was slowly being swallowed by the thick but smooth contents, he took out two cake pans from the cabinet on the right of the oven and filled both pans with the gooey batter. Since the oven was still pre-heating, Ashton decided to make some buttercream icing and crush graham crackers to be the supposedly sand. He took out the two smaller mixing bowls and in the smallest he put in 2 packs of graham cracker (each pack contains 9 crackers, I literally went to my pantry and counted how many because I wanted it to be accurate lol). Ashton then grabbed a big spoon and started to crush the graham crackers into small pieces and eventually crumbs that looked like sand. He pushed it further back on the counter, the oven beeped signaling to Ashton that it was finished pre-heating; he grabbed the two cake pans both filled with the batter and placed the in the oven, he set a timer for 30 minutes, 'Next is the icing!' he cheerful reminded himself. He grabbed the second smallest bowl he put on the counter earlier and put in 4 sticks of softened unsalted butter, 7 1/2 cups of confectioners' sugar, one 13.4 ounce can of prepared dulce leche, milk, and finally 1 teaspoon of sea salt. After Ashton added it all in he stirred it all until is was a icing consistency, or really a smooth and creamy consistency. He covered the bowl with saran wrap and placed it in the fridge, he also covered the bowl of crushed graham crackers, and put it into the fridge.
**Author note: Just saying anything I say, like the photo above that sounds offensive, please don't take it to heart, I have a dumbass sense of humor.**
Ashton wanted to make a sweet treat as a thank you gift to his aunt and uncle for taking him into their apartment. What kind of sweet treat, you ask? Well none better than a cake! And not just any cake, ITS A SAND CASTLE CAKE!!!
Ah, isn't it just wonderful to wake up to the annoying sound of noisy people honking the horns of their vehicles at one another? Yeah I didn't think so, because although most people in the city are used to it and don't take it to heart, Ashton, who has only moved into the city recently to stay with his aunt and uncle in their luxurious apartment, absolutely can't stand the sound. Atleast he doesn't need to rely on his phone for alarms! But what could go wrong? Lots, lots WILL go wrong! But what if moving into the city and starting at a new school wasn't so bad after meeting a certain someone in the hidden game room in East Bay Academy?
