Long before the start of Deltarune, there were five Kings in the Card Kingdom; the King of Spades, the King of Clubs, the King of Diamonds, the King of Hearts, and the Joker King. The other Kings wanted the best for their subjects. The Joker King, Blackstar, however, called them fools. "You're Kings!" he declared. "You should act like it!" The other Kings ignored him. In fury, he tried to take control. However, he was hopelessly outnumbered, and the other Kings easily defeated him. After all four Kings unanimously cast their votes, Rouxls overwrote Blackstar's claim to the throne. Blackstar was furious. He wanted revenge. And he knew the quickest way to gain strength... Level Of Violence. Without hesitation, he tore through the kingdom, killing his former subjects in an unstoppable genocide run. He was already Level 19, almost 20, before he was caught. Only one other Joker remained alive... and he was just a baby. Seam, who was a soldier at the time (and already a pretty old codger,) took baby Jevil in. For thirteen years, Rouxls was tasked with keeping Blackstar sealed in a special cell he couldn't teleport out of. However, 19 LOV peaked his power pretty substantially. And at the end of 13 years... Rouxls just couldn't hold him anymore. The almost unstoppable Blackstar, who had taken to calling himself "the Weasel," was about to lay waste to the battlefield... when Seam arrived at the scene, closely followed by the one Blackstar called "the Monkey." Jevil and Blackstar fought hard. The former King had multiple advantages... but the young Spartan had a little bit of something Lighteners called Determination. Blackstar saw that he was about to lose, and screamed, "You'll never take me alive!" With that, he executed himself, despite Jevil's attempts to spare. Unfortunately, Blackstar's actions led to the other Kings ceasing to trust each other...
