The Adorable You

Chapter 8

Chapter 8

Oct 17, 2022

A whole day passed since my birthday without anyone celebrating it.

There was a tap at my door before it slowly opened to reveal my eldest brother, Tut.

"Hey champ, about yesterday..." Tut showed a guilty expression.

Even so, I was upset, "yesterday...ah! Do you mean the most important day that no one celebrated?" I couldn't stop the snippy remark that came out of my mouth.

Tut rubs the back of his neck, "come on, Blue, don't be like that. Every year we celebrate your birthday. It's just that this year..."

I felt my anger rising, so what is he trying to say?

Tut seemed to have noticed the change in my mood. It wasn't only my family but even my friends who didn't wish me a happy birthday.

"Is my birthday not important anymore?" I was seriously asking.

Tut drops his hand and grips me by my shoulders, "come on, that's not what I meant."

His grip was tight and too much for my delicate pale skin.

I wince from the pain.

Tut drops his hands after realizing he hurt me, "look, I'm only stating facts. Everyone was too busy to celebrate your birthday this year. You're an adult now, and it's about time to look out for yourself."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Why should I have to start looking out for myself when it's my birthday? "But it's my birthday. Isn't birthdays a day everyone celebrates?"

"Seriously, Tut, what are you saying to him?" Mew appears beside Tut at the entrance.

Tut steps back, "I'm not wrong. Don't you think everyone is babying him too much? He's eighteen and still harbors stuffed toys and cutesy items. When will he grow up?"

"Come on. There's no need to say it that way. Besides, he's right. It's his birthday. Why shouldn't we make time to celebrate it as his family? I'm sorry for yesterday, Blue." Mew nudges Tut in his side.

Tut turns his head to the side to hide his scowl, "yeah, sorry."

The doorbell rang, "I wonder who that is. I'll go answer it." Tut was gone before anyone could blink.

Mew shakes her head, "there he goes, running away from the problem."

She looks over at a pouty Blue, "why don't you get dressed? I'll make you a birthday pancake to make up for last night."

It wasn't the same, but I agreed and closed the door to join her downstairs.

We reached the bottom stairs to see Tut standing at the front entrance.

"What's going on, Tut?" Mew bounds up behind him to peek around.

Tut turned at Mew's voice and stepped back to reveal a line of people standing at the door.

"Who are these people?" Mew wondered in shock.

"They said they're here for Blue. I tried to send them away, but they refused."

I'm sure I've never seen those people before.

"What are they holding?" I asked, noticing different neatly wrapped packages in each of their hands.

Seeing neatly wrapped packages with cute decorations could only mean one thing. "Are those birthday presents?" Could it be that Mom and Dad sent me presents while on their business trip?

"Judging by the number of persons, there's eighteen," Mew turned to look at me after counting them.

That's how old I am! I walked to the door, and each person wished me a happy birthday while handing me a present.

When the last one came up to me, they held out a bouquet of sunflowers and a note to me.

I opened the note, scented with something masculine, "to the Blue-eyed stranger. I hope my presents are enough to dry your tears. Happy Birthday, L."

Tut grabbed a present that had been put aside, "I don't think Mom and Dad bought these." He frowns.

He's right. They didn't buy me these presents. There was only one person that came to mind.

An image of the good-looking man from yesterday crossed my thoughts. Just thinking about him made me smile a bit. What's this? I'm happy.

I closed the door after the strange people left and focused on the eighteen presents given to me.

I wonder how he found out where I live or even figured out my name. It's a shame that I still don't know his.

Only marking the packages as L. That's unfair.

I should find a way to return his handkercheif.

Badin Chaicharoen, A.K.A Blue because of his baby blue eyes, was known as cute or adorable ever since he could remember. He eventually adapted to being treated as a child and grew to love cute things, despite already being eighteen. One day he's dragged to his sister's modeling audition, where he met the famous and good-looking older man, King (Lek Phassakorn).
King is rather smitten with the adorable Blue instantly and pursues the child-like young man. Will he succeed in making Blue his or will there be many obstacles in his way?
