The second Holiday spin off episode as promised as my ink goals. This one is a remaster of a Holiday comic I originally made in 2018.
I hadn't seen the Krampus movie from 2015 before I made this comic, but happened to see it for the first time soon after I made this comic.
Krampus is originally a creature from European folk tales, who scares and punished badly behaved children, an opposite of Santa Claus. In some version he's also said to be a son of Hel, the norse goddess of Underworld.
Yule Goat on the other hand is Northern European Christmas symbol and figure, dating all the way back to pagan festive of Yule (which is also the name of this celebration here in Karamador series). Originally the goat was a symbol of bountiful harvest, and later in Christianity it symbolized control over the devil. Yule Goat as a figure was a creature who either scared or rewarded children, and from this tradition the modern Santa Claus tradition was born. In fact, here in Finland Santa Claus is still called Yule Goat (Joulupukki).
In an other dimension, exists the world of Karamador, inhabited by humans and human-like animals and insects known as anhinis.
The first series, Karamador Fantasy, sets in a reneissance- fantasy type time era, during the times of great dangers and legendary heroes. We mostly follow the adventures of Sir Kiljaos Windmane, the lion paladin of wind. Sir Kiljaos is a wandering paladin who travels around his homeland Pohjoland and the other parts of Karamador, fighting the forces of evil and helping those in need, and in hopes to get paid in the process. During his adventures he also meets and teams up with many different companions to fight the forces of chaos, like for example the beastly insectoids of Hordium, the undead, demonic invasions and ruthless orcs.
Although Karamador is set in a fantasy world, many of it's locations are based more or less on real locations. Many of the stories also involve real life legends and folk lore, especially from Finland and Scandinavia.
