In Washington State, it's required to show ID when purchasing Fireworks - this includes party poppers.
so kudos to u, lady - i hope u had fun purchasing fireworks somewhere else. :^)

I work in a shop where we ask for IDs every time someone pays with a card, and thankfully it's a pretty mellow area.. but I'm just waiting for the day when someone will 'splode in my face for it.
