*Metahuman - An individual who derives their power from their genetics, whether by birth or mutation.
*Enhancer - A subset of abilities defined by their enhancement of the self and pre existing human qualities. Ex: Enhancement of one's strength, speed, etc. This is one of the most common ability types.
Stats:
*In regards to rankings and what each number represents, I used the Mutants and Masterminds scale of power where a rank of "0" reperesents the average, non-powered, adult.
On a fundamental level within this setting, all powers originate from one of five sources. Below these sources are listed from most to least common.
Metahuman - A human individual who, through evolution or mutation, has a unique gene sequence granting unique abilities.
Mage - An individual whose powers are tied to their soul, allowing them to interact with various aspects of reality. This can either be innate through a bloodline, or learned through extensive study.
Pilot - An individual who wields seemingly futuristic technology, often created by themselves, to achieve feats other humans, or even other beings as a whole, might not be able to accomplish.
Otherworlder - A non-human originating from either another planet or dimension with abilities inherent to their non terran species.
Sworn - An individual of any species who has discovered and sworn an oath to a Cosmic Artifact. These artifacts take a near infinite range of forms with abilities unlike anything any other class of powers can accomplish. The greater the wielder's oath, the greater the power. Failure to uphold their oath, however, results in what is commonly referred to as ‘A Fate Worse Than Death’.
Each category of powers also contains its own subset of categories to further identify what its user may be capable of. Individuals are capable of possessing more than one subcategory of abilities. For the time being we will examine Metahuman more closely to better understand Athena.
Metahuman Subcategories:
Enhancer - Enhances pre existing human qualities to varying degrees. This can apply to anything ranging from Strength, Speed, Intellect, Presence, Healing, etc.
Kineticist - Allows for the manipulation of matter or energy without directly influencing it physically. Examples include manipulation Fire, Stone, Electricity, Metal, Light, etc.
Generator - Allows for the generation of energy or matter, oftentimes one of the most difficult to use because it drains the users energy to fuel the creation of matter or energy. In this regard, they do not truly create anything since matter/energy cannot truly be created or destroyed. Examples include the generation of Water, Plant Matter, Marshmallows, etc.
Shifter - Alters the user's body in some way to grant alternative traits. Whether for disguises, growing wings, or even shifting into more mythical creatures.
Psychic - Includes any ability which directly influences the mind of other living beings. This includes Telepaths who can read minds, Enthralled who can control them, and more.
Warper - The laws of reality are often considered to be hard lines, but to those with this ability these laws are a little more fluid. Users of this category can bend or blatantly break the inherent laws of the universe. The limitations of Warpers is unknown, abilities can range from teleportation or true creation of matter and energy, to imposing new laws on the world around them or bringing their imaginations to life.
