"I choose to be a human," James said with a clear frown on his face as he selected the human option.
'If you think I'm going to get fucked without fighting back, you're wrong.'
The woman who never took the initiative to start the conversation spoke for the first time without James speaking to her. "Successfully chosen human subspecies. The user Shadow will now appear on the Gollants Bluff in an unknown location in the form of a human. Notice that you have a period of three days to define the location of your core, after that, you will die and reappear in the place where you first appeared in Gollants Bluff, after that you have four days to choose a new location if you don't choose the same will happen, whenever you reappear you have one more day to choose where you want to have your core. As long as you don't choose the location of your core, you will be unable to use any magic, inventory, or fight, since all your energy will have the sole function of protecting and hiding your core from potential enemies. Do you have any doubts or questions?"
"No, let's get this out quickly so we can complain to the company that made this game as soon as possible."
"Well done, user Shadow, you will soon be transported to the world of Medieval Fantasy, I hope you have good adventures and have fun in this fabulous world." With this last sentence, the woman said goodbye to James.
After that, a screen appeared with a countdown in front of James.
[Within a few seconds you will appear in Gollants Bluff.]
[53 seconds left to spawn in Gollants Bluff.]
[52 seconds left to spawn in Gollants Bluff.]
[51 seconds left to spawn in Gollants Bluff.]
[50 seconds left to spawn in Gollants Bluff.]
[…]
[30 seconds left to spawn in Gollants Bluff.]
[…]
[There are 17 seconds left to spawn in Gollants Bluff.]
[…]
[3 seconds left to spawn in Gollants Bluff.]
[2 seconds left to spawn in Gollants Bluff.]
[1 second left to spawn in Gollants Bluff.]
[Will now spawn in Gollants Bluff.]
After the countdown, James flashed into a mountain range. A strong wind could be heard constantly, and sounds of fighting echoed through the mountains, a clear sign that James was in Gollants Bluff.
Not even paying attention to where he was, or to his player status, James was quick to perform the only action he had in mind and without hesitation, James uttered the words he had been wanting to see come to fruition ever since he stayed with the Dungeon Master species. "Log out!"
[User Shadow, will now be logged out of Medieval Fantasy, hopefully, you will be back soon.]
James opened his eyes and saw the sight of his new pod, without wasting any more time James got out of the pod running and started looking for the "Evolutionis" company card. After finding it, James wasted no more time and call the number.
On the other end of the line, a sweet female voice spoke. "Good evening, welcome to the Evolutionis helpline, how can I help you today?"
With an anxious tone, James spoke. "I chose a species that I didn't intend to be in the initial choice, I would like to know what I need to do to cancel the choice?"
"First of all, I would like to know whom I am talking to."
"James."
"Very well Mr. James, would it be possible for you to tell me in detail what happened, so that I can help you better?"
Without hesitation, James explained everything that happened since he entered the pod until the moment, he decided to complete the species choice so that he could finally clarify what happened to customer support and be able to change his species.
"We regret to inform you, sir, but at this time it is impossible to help you. At this time, customer support is only for urgent situations that cannot be remedied even after a few hours, such as death while still having a life, or other similar situations, I hope you understand that if a player dies, he is penalized with three days without being able to play, as you currently can still play, just without the species you want, we can't solve your problem now. If you want, I can leave your complaint noted and as soon as nine in the morning the responsible department will contact you."
James' frustration after hearing what the voice on the other end of the line said rose to a whole notch, but at the same time, he understood what was going on, especially when he looked at the time and found that it was already five in the morning and forty-three minutes.
"Very well, I will wait for your department to contact me."
"Is there anything else I can be of assistance to you, Mr. James?"
"No, just that."
"Okay, so I'll end the call, if you have any problems, please don't hesitate to contact our customer service line, we promise to resolve your issues as soon as possible if they are possible to resolve." No sooner had the last sentence ended than the call was disconnected leaving James completely irritated and with no one to vent his frustrations on.
Not wanting to play with the so-called slave species, and seeing how late it was, James decided to go to sleep. Or at least that's what he planned, but due to the anxiety he was, the only thing he could do was toss and turn in bed.
Looking once more at the time it was and noticing that there was still some time left for nine in the morning. James made a decision. 'It's better to go do some physical exercise since I can't sleep, at least I always do something good and maybe I can get away from the time and above all the crappy specie I am in the game.'
In "Medieval Fantasy", as in many other existing virtual reality games, if a person has a superior physique, this will be verified in the player's statistics, for example, a person who is a high-competition athlete, as a rule, must have more strength, stamina or other attributes depending on the game, superior to a person working in an office. But the company "Evolutionis" went beyond the simple physique of the body, if a person trains in martial arts, or happens to know how to handle a weapon, this knowledge can be used in "Medieval Fantasy" and appears at the level of skills and depending on the degree to which a person knows how to handle the weapon, the person can have certain degrees of mastery.
James headed towards the gym not expecting to find anyone there.
