"That was some good ass food." Darren smiled, proud he chose the restaurant.
"It was. And the conversation was not half as bad as well." Vanessa responded.
"I actually do not want this day to end. Let's do something."
"What do you want to do?"
"Let's have a sleepover."
"I am down."
"Bet. I know the place."
"He took me to a fountain." Vanessa texted Chelsea.

"Okay. I am good." Darren put his phone back into his pocket. "So what did you think of the fountain?"
"Do you still talk to Stella?" Vanessa asked.
"I do. Do you?"
3rd Floor.
"I do. She mostly texts first." Vanessa added.
"I actually text her first the most." Darren shrugged.
"Same."
4th Floor.
"Here we go." He stepped out of the elevator.
She smiled and stepped out.
The hotel room was very spacious and neat.
They spent the time watching movies and playing games. You could tell this was planned.
Then, something not planned happened.
The most important conversation of their entire life.
I am not joking.
"If the world was ending, what would you do?" Vanessa asked randomly.
"What would you do?" Darren deflected.
"I have no clue. It is scary to tell, right? It is for me too."
"I would want to spend my last moments with you, Vanessa."
They made eye contact.
"Aww. That is so cute. I feel like that is what everyone says but it is okay. I will accept that."
"No, I am not joking."
"What about your fountain?"
"What about it?"
"Wouldn't you want to spend some time with it? You love it so much. I can tell. Nothing bad about it though." Vanessa joked.
"If the world was ending, I would want to spend my last moments with you. I love you."
"How about both?" Vanessa suggested.
"Both?" Darren thought about it.
"How about we meet here, right here, during the last moments of our life? You have your favourite fountain and your favourite woman other than your mom, of course."
"No joke?"
"No joke"
"I am down. We gotta do something to seal it or it would not be true."
"Like what"
Darren bought his hand up.
It started with a handshake.
The man with a dark robe appeared to a scene. You could not see or tell anything about his features excluding that he had a pointed nose. He wore a hooded top.
He reached into his bag and bought forth... a snail?
A snail?
Hold up.
It was a peculiar looking snail. A peculiar looking day.
"I just need enough slime/time to carry out this plan, and it will be mine."
"Things are about to change in here."
"Reporting live. This is cable news." The foreign reporter on the screen reported. "We have another religious healing moment in our midst today."
The reporter moves close to the scene. "Sir, what is your name?"
"My name is William Holden."
"William Holden, nice to meet you. Would you please tell me what is going on today?"
"My leg has not been able to work in over 60 years. I am here-"
"You are here for a religious healing, is that correct?"
"That is correct. When I heard about this pastor, I knew I had to come. I miss walking. Not every one knows how it feels to be in this terrible position. I do not wish it on anybody."
"I am so sorry, sir. What happened to cause this?"
"Well, I-" He sat up more.
"Gather around. Gather around, all you people." The pastor who was holding the religious healing spoke to everyone there, and they did just that. "We are gathered today to hold our 4th annual religious healing. I am pleased to say this is the highest turnover we have gotten. I won't take most of your time, but be sure to purchase one of my books at the back of the building when we are done. I promise you it will change your life." The pastor turned slightly to his left. "Alright, you can bring one of the people out."
William Holden came up to the stage with his wheelchair.
"What is your name, young man?" The pastor gently spoke.
"My name is William Holden, sir."
"Nice to meet you, William. Do you mind if I pray for you, sir?"
"Do I mind? I certainly do not mind." He shook his head funny and everyone chuckled.
Okay. The pastor touched him. "By the power invested in me, I command your legs to move."
...
...
...
Nothing happens.
The pastor nervously looks at the crowd. He looks back at William Holden. "Maybe, God wants it to be a longer prayer. God said walk and a man walked. By the power invested in me, I command you to walk."
William Holden is speechless. He still feels nothing in his legs.
"Try and walk" The pastor whispers to him.
"uh-" This is not going to end well. William gets up using his hands.
And.
THUMP.
He falls down.
Flat on the floor.
The crowd gasps.
This has never happened before.
A vision appears to the pastor.
"Are you watching TV?" Darren texts Vanessa.
"Are you talking about the pastoral event?"
"I am"
"I am watching it now. It is going viral online." Vanessa texts back. "What do you think happened?"
"Hold up." The pastor almost retreats. "The Lord has blessed me with a vision. This is the first vision I have ever gotten from God. I am a cynic." He moved to the mic. "In three days time, the world will-"
THUMP.
A gun shot coming from somewhere high up.
He falls to the ground... dead.
In three days time, will we be allowed over?
