INVESTIGATOR RAMIREZ:
I glance over my shoulder as she runs. How unusual of me to freeze when I need to shoot. That Amelia has something strange to her that literally made me stop. I feel like I've seen her before. Maybe she looks like Penny but that can't be It. Cecelyn points towards It as a command to go with her and exterminate that creature even If I disagree. We stop as we observe It Is at least eighteen meters ahead of us with Its long tentacles occupying around three-four meters. We continue to go towards It around four centimeters ahead. Never In my entire existence have I ever seen something like this. A very rare species of tentacled creature. This creature is bigger, taller, and more muscular and that's why it’s tentacles are longer, more sharper than normal ones.
"I'll try to shoot, keep an eye on me just In case." She signals In a whisper.
"Noted," I whisper back with my lingering stare.
Cecelyn takes her shotgun and fixes the target towards his head, loading It. She pulls the trigger successfully but he moves one of his tentacles In front of the bullet In milliseconds, saving his life. Before we can even react, something grabs Cecelyn's arm towards him, pulling her as she struggles against the danger. I Instinctively shoot his tentacle, freeing her. She backs away from another threat In time.
"He noticed us!" I speak alarmed as I realize what's happening.
With swift I grab her arm and run away from the creature who Is now walking toward us. In an instant, force pulls my leg and abruptly drags me away from Cecelyn. She holds on to one of my arms with both of her hands In an attempt to pull me out. I catch a glimpse of her horrified gaze before the strong sound of shooting fills my ears. The grip fastly weakens and I eventually try to get up from the floor, feeling exhausted. She offers to help me get up but I refuse. I pick the gun up from the ground as I turn around to look at the creature again.
"What happened?" She asks, lowkey confused.
"Looks like someone killed It. The tentacles are on the ground all over the place."
"Disgusting." Cecelyn remarks.
She raises her gun up and slowly walks towards the corpse. I remain behind her with my gun ready. We both head toward it and observe a silhouette of a human who victoriously puts one of Its feet on the creature.
"Apple head, It's me!" The stranger yells in a familiar voice. I let my gun down as I realize It was Kara Dewery. She attacked the creature from behind.
Cecelyn lets her gun down too, sighing angrily. As she comes toward us, she kicks one of Its tentacles and says "This one might be the last bad boy."
"How many of them attacked?"
"Three, and a human wolf." She exclaims, counting with her fingers. As I look at Kara closely, I see that she wears a pair of goggles, gloves, a ripped skin jacket on top of a white tank top, and chainsaw protection pants.
What a weird choice of clothing for fighting. Her clothes were bloodstained by the creatures, making her look injured. As expected, Kara holds a rotary blaster gun that can shoot three bullets at once.
She pushes her glasses up and continues speaking. "I was wearing this baby when I was repairing uncle Jamie's car. Then I heard the gorgeous siren of danger and decided I might need this pair of glasses to protect my eyes from the bloodstains. Oh, I think those suit my clothing style too!"
"No, my question Is from where did you get that weapon If you were repairing vehicles when you heard the siren?"
She looks down at her clothes confused, and as she sees her gun she realizes what Cecelyn Is talking about. No better time to forget that you have a weapon.
"Borrowed It." She answers, winking at me with her left eye.
"From who?" Cecelyn asks with authoritativeness as she realizes too that It's a lie.
"Simply doesn't matter." She explains, seemingly relaxed.
You always like to create problems. Don't you?
"By the way, why did you let that stranger from earlier go?"
"He told me she Is harmless!" Cecelyn exclaims, putting the blame on me.
"What?! You'd let someone go like that?" Kara asks, wholly confused.
"That girl proved to me she Is no harm." I lie, knowing that I might be wrong too. She looked too scared to be a threat.
"We are still In danger! That girl has to wait for later." Cecelyn exclaimed, taking our attention. She continues speaking and says "Go and check the city's safety with Kara!"
