AMELIA HANNOVER:

14:30 P.M.

I remember how I ran back to the investigation building and found a large group of investigators. Immediately, two of them brought me into an investigation room and helped me bandage some of my wounds. I take a seat at the empty wooden table of ten and wait with agitation for what feels like forever.

In the thirty-five minutes of waiting alone with only a guard at the front of the door, Anya and Narron arrive unharmed but with a few scratches here and there. The room Is silent and quite hollow or It might be my brain playing with me. Cecelyn arrives In the room abruptly with two investigators after her. I feel better. She survived.

- Slam!

"He Is going to disown me!" Cecelyn comments with anger.

Who Is she referring to?

I look down at the ground, feeling shameful. Only three of us remain. The investigation room Is completely silent before she continues scolding us.

"What were the ten of you doing In the city? You didn't even take the test." Investigator Perez exclaims with her fingers tapping on the table, I am too ashamed to look at her.

"We heard that the city Is In danger and we wanted to help." Says Narron Staffen.

"Seven of you died because of stupidity. That did not help." She snaps at him.

"We did what we could," I say, trying to defend him.

"Shut up! That's not an excuse. Who came up with the idea to help?"

"I did," Narron replied.

"Why didn't you call us for help before jumping In to fight? The three of you and the others knew It was dangerous."

"We also wanted to prove that we are worthy to join you. And we wanted to help." I try to explain and continue, "I am terribly sorry that our plan turned out to be a failure."

My words don't seem to soften her at all.

"Who do you think keeps the city safe? Those who I put on patrols to monitor the city! That's their job, not yours!" Cecelyn says with her eyes burning In wrath, indirectly implying that I am stupid.

"Where were the patrols when the monsters attacked!?" I snap back, silencing her for a few seconds. Miss Cecelyn keeps my gaze before she comments "You should apologize for your behavior."

Bad news, I won't!

"The ambulance will take the three of you to the hospital. Leave this room and go, now!"
