I just thought what I wrote was pretty funny and though I might share a little bit of my writing process. Having ADHD, writing papers has always been one of the most difficult things for me to do, over the years I have trained myself to stay on task with some of the most ridiculous of strategies. This one has always worked rather well for me over the years.
I write randomness or casual speech that is later changed into more appropriate sentences and citations that were not previously included. And because I use grammar/spell check to its maximum potential, from passive voice to "I" statements and phrasing, as well as readability statistics, my atrocious writing ability becomes moderately adequate or even good, lol.
I usually end up using all capitals for random speech (so I don't forget to remove it) and highlighting areas that need citation (its a lot easier to get all my ideas and structure down on paper before moving somewhere else. It's easier to stay on task if I don't leave the page I'm working on)
As a fellow science nerd (I wand to be a molecular biologist) bearing the curse/(sometimes but very rarely)blessing of ADHD I would love to hear more about your strategies for dealing with it. I do most of the same randomness that you do, but I still struggle with writing. I usually end up spending hours procrastinating or writing variations of the same sentence because it doesn't sound the exact way I want it too. Also, I really enjoy your comic, it is a lot like my life! :-)
